Houston RB Charles Sims Transferring

He'll use the grad transfer exception to be eligible for 2013.

That should get him a bit more exposure.

Texas A&M?

What's his degree in? That may help narrow down the list of potential schools.

Supplemental draft.

Wootylicous 05-23-2013 08:33 AM

Sims recently graduated from Houston with a health degree and wouldn't be forced to sit out a year if he decides to transfer to another FBS program.

Can't go the SEC. The SEC doesn't allow the graduate transfer rule.

Since when? Ole Miss took Masoli under the rule, and I am not so sure the SEC can trump NCAA rules.

Don Vito 05-23-2013 03:36 PM

I think Masoli entered one of our grad programs after completing his undergrad at Oregon. Unless something has changed it seems like it is the same scenario.

Which is exactly the Senior Transfer Rule.

BRAVEHEART 05-23-2013 05:14 PM

IIRC Masoli transferred before the SEC adopted this rule.

mightytitan9 05-23-2013 05:20 PM

The NCAA denied Masoli's transfer at first because he got kicked out of Oregon and was basically abusing the transfer rule exception.

Then again, everyone abuses the transfer rule exception

This article suggests that he could be transferring to Texas Tech, where several of his former coaches from Houston are now coaching.
