Most overrated teams of the BCS era. FSU is the definition of overrated

I love math.

JoeJoe....You delete this thread of **** right now.

oh....and Bowl Wins.....all I have to say.

2001, 2002, 2005, and 2006 really skew the results of this and a season like 1999 where we went wire to wire does nothing.

I don't disagree. FSU should be better with the talent they seem to have. Lately they have seem to disappoint, especially in a weak ACC.

I cannot delete it. My inner troll demands it live on.

The math does not lie. FSU has been consistently overrated over the past 15 or so years. I expect that to continue on until Jimbo is fired.

That's the point of the article. If you live up to the hype, all you did was what you were meant to do. If you fail to live up to the hype you were overrated and over hyped at the start of the season. So it's saying, on average, FSU are the most overrated team.

Stop being a homer.

They really are. Bama is also they benefit from a weak SEC schedule (minus LSU/A&M and look at their "permanent opponents").

i love how last year by itself probably totally eliminated ND for contention in this trophy. A trophy where itd be a frontrunner otherwise

jrdrylie 06-25-2013 12:22 PM

I guess I understand the idea of the article. But every team outside of Alabama, Florida, LSU, USC, Ohio State, and Oklahoma would likely trade their success since 1998 with Florida State.

I'd like to see a list of the most underrated teams.

I am 95% sure because of the formula used that Washington State tops that list.

I'm not really sure you can take too much from this article. Aside from Alabama and Ohio State (and credit to those schools) this list is comprised mostly of the top programs in college football. The article claims that "Dropping an average of six spots over a 15 year span is a very large number," when really it's not. When you're ranked so highly to begin with, 4-6 spots is about one extra loss per year. In a few of those years some teams fell one or two spots simply because teams like Boise State and TCU finished undefeated or with one loss.
