This is real life.

Wilson was smart to tank it so the Raiders don't keep him.

What a joke...yikes.

Neither Wilson or Matt Scott made rosters, somewhere out there PF28 is slowly crying himself to sleep. Although I actually expected a lot more from Wilson myself.

He'll be a free second round pick for GB in a few years.

Very interesting how all those Wilson vs. Barkley debates a few years back ended up playing out. Kind of crazy. I had much higher expectations for both of them back then.

McGloin is interesting. I don't think his NFL future looks all that bright, but it goes to show how little coaching was actually going on at Penn State in the latter day Paterno years. He was absolutely horrendous a few years back and he's now made an NFL roster.

His style is really similar to Rodgers when he's on his game (I've made the comparison a couple of times) and the Packers do need a backup/developmental quarterback...

I had high hopes for Tyler Wilson. Sucks that he can't even make the Raiders roster. I wonder if he'll get another tryout somewhere.

But then again, we all know the Raiders are one of the worst teams in the league at evaluating and developing talent, so... grain of salt.

I thought about that too. I wonder if they do end up getting Clowney how he'll fare there.

Tyler Wilson could tear it up in the CFL for a few years before coming back to the NFL.

Maybe the Packers should just sign Zach Collaros. ; )

Dude was always terrible and overrated because the QB class wasn't any good. He often overthrew his wideouts and just didn't have any command. Not to mention his arm was nothing special, just average. Classic case of the draftniks looking for someone to hype up because there really was nothing.

jrdrylie 09-01-2013 10:51 PM

Wilson's last season really soured me on him. I know you lost you coach, but the team straight up quit. That showed a leadership void, one which a senior quarterback should step up to fill. That right there showed me he didn't have the intangibles to be a starting QB. With that said, I thought he at least had enough physical talent to stick around as a backup.

vidae 09-01-2013 10:53 PM

I'd still take him on the Chiefs. I hate Chase Daniel something fierce.

I always questioned his overall ability, always be suspicious of QB's who have great success for a college HC's whose QB's have consistently failed at the next level. It doesn't mean they will automatically flop, see Rodgers, but you have to remain skeptical of their chances and Wilson showed he was seriously flawed as a senior.

You always evaluate the player, but Petrino's QB track record isn't the best. Mallet has made very little progress in his NFL years as well.

Tebow, Pryor and McFadden all in the same backfield. Who is going to overthrow the receiver for the pick? You never know. It could be any one of them.

Brothgar 09-02-2013 12:55 AM

Rumor has it that an NFC West and AFC North team have interest in Wilson.

I would imagine Cardinals and Pittsburgh to groom as a replacement for their current QBs.

God, I remember back seeing mocks with Wilson going in the top 10. And now he didn't even make the roster of one of the worst teams in the league.
