Not really a Freeman fan but his mix of youth and elite tools will fetch a huge hull if the Bucs do trade him.

HawkeyeFan 09-15-2013 12:38 PM

Ahm, who does he think he is? Tampa Bay is the only spot you really have right now Josh.

shylo3716 09-15-2013 12:39 PM

Throw this into the trade block thread.

WCH 09-15-2013 12:49 PM

I don't see anybody trading for Freeman, but I do see him getting a lot of interest in free agency. He's not that far removed from looking like one of the more promising young QBs in the NFL.

J-Mike88 09-15-2013 12:57 PM

Who'd want him?
Cleveland?

Ness 09-15-2013 01:02 PM

Minnesota should jump all over that.

ElectricEye 09-15-2013 01:06 PM

Supposedly, Cassel is on the verge of beating out Ponder. Cassel beating out anyone probably doesn't bode well for their future. I don't know enough about the situation to prognosticate will any accuracy....but could the Vikings be a candidate beyond the obvious ones? If they really aren't sold on Ponder, they may be too good to find an adequate replacement in the draft. I'm not sure Freeman will fetch as much as some think either. The Bucs don't have a whole ton of leverage at this point.

Babylon 09-15-2013 01:37 PM

You'd have to ask why is there a problem there and if it's stuff from the neck up then you've just answered your question. I guess there's always one team that would take a chance but I wouldn't be mortgaging the future for him.

The way I see it, Peterson is in the prime of his career and you need a quarterback. Freeman isn't the best quarterback in the world obviously, but he can at least get the ball down the field. I'd take my chances with him over Ponder and Cassel any day.

brat316 09-15-2013 02:46 PM

Vikings should be at the front throwing their second rounds picks at the bucs

49erNation85 09-15-2013 03:15 PM

Tampa should go sign Tebow.

boknows34 09-15-2013 03:53 PM

It's Jason La Canfora reporting so Freeman will probably sign a contract extension this week. ;)

You realize they just drafted Mike Glennon? Or did you just want to post about Tebow?

Well-said.

Thank God the Vikings reached so badly for Ponder when they could have drafted Kaepernick.

Good move there Minny, almost as bad as taking Troy Williamson AND Erasmus James instead of DeMarcus Ware and Aaron Rodgers in that 2005 draft.

WTF is the story in Tampa Bay right now?
I keep turning to that game and see Arizona Detroit.
Hurricane rolling thru Tampa, St Pete?

To be fair, Culpepper was coming off one of the best passing seasons ever in 2004, so there was no reason to grab Rodgers.

J-Mike brings that up like 5 times every season, ignoring the fact that Culpepper would have won the MVP that year if Peyton didn't have one of the best seasons a QB has ever had.

The 49ers were laughed at for taking Kaepernick at 36... You think the Vikings should've taken him at 12?

I've never liked Freeman very much, but I'd say his biggest problem is Greg Schiano being a doucher.

Like others have said, Minny should call about him.

Brothgar 09-16-2013 04:10 AM

I could easily see several teams going after freeman.

Jacksonville, Oakland, Cleveland, Minnesota, Arizona and Tennessee.

niel89 09-16-2013 04:29 AM

Why pay now when he will be a FA very soon?

He needs to go to Minnesota

BallerT1215 09-16-2013 02:55 PM

That TE should be embarrassed.
