Always tragic when a player passes away.

WCH 09-25-2013 03:43 PM

He was 29 and it was an apparent suicide. This is pretty sad. :(

vidae 09-25-2013 03:44 PM

Wow, that is sad. RIP.

MidwestJimmy 09-25-2013 04:13 PM

I vaguely remember the name. He was a CB wasn't he?

I wonder if the suicide was because of depression from having a short career or due to head injuries like with Junior Seau and Dave Duerson.

Man that's sad, I remember when he was taken in the supplemental draft, he got a ton of hype because he was able to cover Calvin Johnson in the Georgia Georgia Tech game if I recall correctly. He was a five star too coming out of high school. Condolences to his friends and family.

BallerT1215 09-25-2013 04:21 PM

Sad story. I remember him coming out of Georgia.

Saints-Tigers 09-25-2013 04:38 PM

He was a pretty big name that had to go in the supplemental draft because of off the field issues, no? So sad, hate to see it, 29 is so young.

RIP Paul Oliver :\

SunTzu_22 09-25-2013 05:29 PM

Very sad indeed. RIP.

Very sad, RIP and as always, suicide is a ludicrous nonsensical waste.

Unrelated to the actual event but maybe of interest to anyone who bothered to click on the thread: 4th rounder in the supplemental draft. widely praised for holding Calvin Johnson to 2 catches during a GT/Georgia game. Came in as a corner but eventually tried to make the jump to safety but never quite caught on.

Eazy Picks 09-25-2013 06:35 PM

damn yea i remember him thought he was gonna be good but just never panned out, what a shame and waste. RIP

ChiFan24 09-25-2013 07:17 PM

Sad. I remember talking about him going into the supplemental draft; some thought he could be worth a second and people thought the Chargers got a steal.

Yeah no kidding. Never can understand those.... if ya life is so bad, change it. Move away, restart, whatever. It's a big world, many places to go.

I Wanted this guy coming into the NFL too, mostly based on what he was able to do with Calvin Johnson, but also liked his blend of size and athletic ability.

Thought the Chargers got a steal.

Very sad being a UGA fan and him being a 5* recruit I followed him in high school and the supp. draft was bc of grades not any arrests.
