Looking Ahead - 2015/2016 Drafts

The 2014 draft is fast approaching, but as we all know the next wave of NFL prospects are waiting in the wings. Do you guys have any players you are excited about that will be draft eligible in the next few years?

For me it is Ole Miss left tackle Laremy Tunsil. Yeah, big shocker I know. He will be a top 5 pick barring a devastating injury. He is the real deal. Set it stone, quote me, I don't care. Might end up being the best player we've ever had. Absolutely dominated as a freshman left tackle in the SEC last year. You guys have put up with my Moncrief homerism, but that is nothing compared to what you are going to have to deal with on Tunsil. It will be Greg Hardy-esque. Safety Tony Conner is the next best thing we have. Was a stud as a true freshman last year and the coaches can't stop raving about him. Constantly around the ball and an absolute specimen. Laquon Treadwell has big things expected out of him this year and had a solid freshman season himself, is a physical freak. Apparently he is weighing in at 225-230 these days. People are hoping Nkemdiche takes it to another level this year, has all of the talent in the world and showed flashes but hasn't quite put it together yet.

Those are my guys. You guys have any players on your favorite teams or any team that you want to advertise? Let's try to leave incoming freshmen out of this.

Myles Jack is amazing for the 2016 class.

worldtheofend 03-25-2014 11:05 AM

Christian Hackenberg from Penn State will be a top flight qb by his junior year

He certainly has the best high top fade.

Chris Jones from Mississippi State is a guy who I want to keep an eye on. I just have an image in my head of him tossing aside LSU's RT as if he wasn't there. It reminded me of a play Reggie White made against the Patiots in a Superbowl.

He still has to develop quite a bit but he definitely flashed signs as a true freshman.

draftguru151 03-25-2014 11:30 AM

Stacy Coley, WR, Miami

Most fans know about UMD's WR Stefon Diggs. He's getting hype as the best WR to ever play for the program.

He's a serious Heisman trophy candidate if he can come back fully recovered for the 2014 season.

Chris Jones is a damn animal. Reggie White is a name that should not get thrown around very often in terms of comparing players, but he played DT/DE as a true freshman at 6-6 280 last year and at times looked like a man amongst boys. He could wind up being a very, very special player.

From Rutgers WR Leonte Carroo and LB Steve Longa. DT Darius Hamilton also an interesting case but he'll kind of be without a position. 3/4 DE most likely in NFL.

Virginia Tech...
Corners Kendall Fuller and Brandon Facyson. Both played significantly as true freshman. Kendall was unbelievable and is without a doubt more talented than his brothers. Facyson is 6'3 and uber athletic.

You read my mind, Longa is a monster. I can't believe RU keeps chruning out high quality WR's with such sub par QB play. Jason Baum tweeted that he saw Hamilton for the first time in a while, said he was jacked and looks like he has been living in the weight room. I think he gets a shot to start at DT this year.

Giantsfan1080 03-25-2014 01:35 PM

Hamilton is definitely a starter at DT this year. He started every game last year also.

Longa is up to 230 now with same speed and they moved him back outside which is where he should be. His potential is off the charts.

The Number One overall pick in whichever Draft he chooses to bless his presence with.

Babylon 03-25-2014 02:17 PM

Took you long enough.

My guess is it will be 2015. He'd probably get stiff competition from Hackenburg in 2016.

Doubtful once he's had 4 years under Fisher (who NFL teams absolutely love).

norcalgsr 03-25-2014 03:51 PM

Devin Funchess is a top 3 WR for 2015 and is everything we want Kelvin Benjamin to be.

Maxx Williams is the #1 TE for 2015.

Hines 03-25-2014 05:56 PM

Tyler Boyd. He's just scratching the surface.

Don Vito 03-26-2014 03:22 PM

Forgot to mention CB Derrick Jones with my Ole Miss guys. True freshman last year, wasn't a big time recruit like the rest of the guys but he started at corner and the coaches think he has a bright NFL future. They thought he would be a receiver but looks like the real deal as a 6-2 or 6-3 corner. Big time athlete.

niel89 03-26-2014 04:10 PM

For Stanford, LT Andrus Peat is a good player. 6'7" 315 and his dad was an NFL lineman as well. I think he has a shot at being a good player for the NFL.

Also WR Ty Montgomery. Very explosive player with big return ability. He had 2 TDs on returns last year and lots of good runs. He really took step forward as a receiver last year and I think he can be a prospect.

MassNole 03-26-2014 04:18 PM

In either 2015 or 2016 Mario Edwards Jr. will be one of the most intriguing DL prospects. He is a jumbo sized DE with some freakish athleticism (kid could do a standing backflip at 300+ lbs). He's primarily been a DE, but in 2014 will see snaps as a pass rushing DT on passing downs. He did have issues with conditioning as a freshman, but that has not been the case since. He provides a DE who can play in either a 4-3 or a 3-4, and could grow into a dominating 3 Tech DT at the next level once he really starts to mature physically in his mid-20's. Good pedigree as his father was a solid NFL player (although at CB, talk about interesting genetics with Junior).

While MassNole milks it the Noles are loaded for 2015/16:

Jameis Winston QB
Karlos Williams RB
Rashad Greene WR
Nick O'Leary TE
Cam Erving OT
Tre Jackson OG
Josue Matias OG
Mario Edwards DE
Ronald Darby CB

That's just 2015

I honestly believe Peat might be the first tackle taken next year if he comes out.

draftguru151 03-26-2014 05:42 PM

Peat would probably be the first tackle picked this year.

bigbluedefense 03-26-2014 06:22 PM

There's a pass rusher from Georgia that reminds me of DeMarcus Ware. I think DG told me on twitter that he's a sophomore or freshman, I forgot.

But he looks like he has loads of potential.
