Where do blacks get the names for their kids?
Where do black people get the names for their kids?
So I was reading an article about Shaquanda Cotton, the 15 year old girl who went to jail in 2006 for roughing up a female teacher in Paris, Texas, and I got to thinking about some of the important social issues of our time. Was this girl treated unfairly because she was black? Would a white student have faced the same consequences? Was her mistake so egregious that she do jail time? Can we as a society ever get past our racial differences and embrace each other as part of the only race that matters, the human race?
Then it hit me, what the f-ck is a Shaquanda?
*No Racist*
So where exactly do names like Shaquanda, JaMichael, DaDontrell and Bon'Quisha come from? Are they historically and culturally significant? DaMarcus sounds like an ancient African name, so I assume most of these names are of ancient African origin.

I can tell you, with 100% certainty, that Bon'Quisha is an ancient African name.

I was once in a class in college with a girl whose name was La-Sha.
When the prof took attendance on the first day, the girl was upset because she pronounced it wrong. As the girl explained, you're supposed to pronounce the hyphen as "dash." La-dash-a
I wish I were making that up.

"DaMarcus" sounds ancient "African" to you? African what, Ethiopian, Nigerian, Cameroonian, etc...
before you answer that, DaMarcus is just Marcus with D&A in the front. Please tell me you're just a racist troll, and not a 12 yr old kid from wyoming.
