Young Guns Pt. 2: Luck, RG3, Newton, Locker, Dalton, Ponder, Gabbert
Obviously Luck, RG3, and Newton will get all the votes here, but we should get a thread to talk about this next generation of young quarterbacks. Think we got some good ones in this bunch.

It's more predicting how they will end up than anything. If you don't think Luck and RGIII have tons of potential you're blind. It was also extremely close between Newton and RGIII for the #2 spot, they might be interchangeable to me.

If your are talking about Potential than Newton has more potential than both of them.Locker has more potential than Luck and RG3. I didn't say didn't have potential, I said how are they better.

Duh, they're not named Cam Newton.
He's hated.....for reasons I can't fathom. At the moment he's the best guy on that list with Dalton (due to production rather than talent) a close second.

You're smoking something if you think Dalton is ahead of Luck and Griffin.

Is Shaun Hill an option. Otherwise, give me Luck.

I'll back up any talk on Cam. Ponder is actually an NFL QB running an NFL offense. Newton isn't successful unless he's running it 70-80 yards out of that stupid Read-Option offense.
If he can be successful as a passer, then he can be up there. But right now, defenses are figuring out how to isolate and he's not responding.

He had Josh Freeman high in the last one too. You can't really go by his list.

I think everyone had him on there last after 2010. Usually putting up elite numbers aren't a fluke. Guess I was wrong, but not the only one.

Newton's run for 70 yards exactly once in his NFL career

If you actually watch Washington this year they are pretty much running the same offense for RG3 that Cam is running in Carolina, but RG3 some how is better?

Cam isn't responding to what the Defenses are doing and he's being shut down.
Haven't seen RG III exposed yet, plus RG III was a more accurate passer coming out as a prospect.

Yeah didn't hurt that he played in the big 12 where no one plays defense.

You really wish this were true. He had a bad game on a four day week so he's being shut down? He completed 70% and 300-something and 250. The team also had the most 20+ yard gains before week three, and he's a huge part of that.
The INTs are too high right now but in terms of how he's looked on the field I'd say he's moving better in the pocket and he's been more accurate than last year. He should try to scramble more to help the team. They're really not good enough for him to avoid scrambling like he has been.
Can we stomp out the "sophomore slump" theories too? Statistics show that nearly all sophomore QBs improve in almost all phases. Yes, even Blaine Gabbert will improve.
The NFL is going to have a ridiculous amount of good QBs very soon.
