And issue with Chris Paul is that he, unlike Kobe or LeBron, is actually physically and statistically making his teammates better, where you see West emerge once Paul got there, Peja who was on the decline show signs of life again, and Chandler playing better than he ever has. So when people compare teams, it's difficult considering he's elevated his teammates by so much in comparison. As for who the best player in the league is, I think it'd be crazy to put Paul up near the top. It's kind of comical though when people say "Oh, LeBron's been doing it for longer" yet fail to mention Duncan, who has done it for an even longer at a higher level.

Chris Paul's value to the Hornets = LeBron's value to the Cavs..
There goes that argument out the window. If you think about, all three MVP candidates are invaluable to the team. Kobe has carried this team for so long and continues to do so. He's showed people why he's the best player in the league year after year, this year especially when he, along with the help Gasol, made the Lakers the top dawg in the West.
To sum up Paul's value to the Hornets let me put it this way. No Paul, No wins. The only word that comes to mind when evaluating Paul's play this passed season is Brilliance. Every time he makes a play.. BRILLIANT!. Every time he dishes one of dimes that turns into a points.. BRILLIANT!.
LeBron is Lebron. They don't call him King for no reason. He does it all and is one of the most dynamic players to come around in a long time. Same with Paul, No Lebron = No wins/playoffs. He is the team.
There's a stout argument for all three. Take you pick.

realistically (before the Pau Gasol trade) you could make that same argument for all three...
now, if you take Kobe away, they may still be able to float at just above .500
but yes, if you take Paul away from the hornets they have a lottery pick...if you take Lebron away from the cavs you have a lottery pick...
yes, the voting will be slighted (I believe they have already voted) in Kobe's favor because he's never won one before...but I think after he gets his MVP next season, Paul keeps up his level of play...they will go back to Most Valuable Player...

Which argument exactly does that throw out the window?

That Paul is the most valuable player on the Hornets so he should get to the MVP award.

He's also playing with another NBA All-Star in David West, a dead eye shooter in Peja, and a rebounding beast in Tyson Chandler that runs the floor like a guard.
LeBron has ZERO supporting cast....When Daniel Gibson is the guy you look to for support, you've got some serious problems.

Before Paul started playing MVP-Like, David West was an alright player and Peja's career was going down hill. Tyson was always solid, but didn't put up numbers like this.

If they did, 90 percent of the league would be suspended. Utah would probably be safe though.

They test(Remember Chris "BIRDMAN" Anderson's cocaine suspension), but I don't think weed is a banned substance.

WMD will speak when he feels the need. The Pistons will show up when they feel the need to. Until then, I'm threatening to castrate Flip Saunders.
Also, I'd like to thank Chauncey Billups for single-handedly destroying two games.
