I'm pretty happy with what the Chiefs ended up doing. I think I probably would have taken Nicks instead of Charles (turns out that would have been a major reach) but I was happy with the Cottam pick. I think Cottam is more in line with what it looks like the Chiefs are trying to do with their tight ends, that is get someone who can push the defender around a little bit, and I don't think Rucker is that type of guy.

I don't think I'd change much of what we did there. I didn't like the Cottam pick at the time, but it has grown on me, and I'm happy with the Charles/Morgan picks.

What?! Just goes to show I'm not perfect with all of my prognostications but this was a fun thread to read through 5 years after the fact. We were all so excited for what would turn out to be King Carl's final draft.

The Chiefs came away with a run stuffing defensive tackle, a pretty decent starting left tackle in Albert, a stud corner in Flowers, and an all-world running back in Charles in their first 3 rounds, a very good day at the office. Add in Brandon Carr and the Chiefs had probably their finest draft I can remember. And I still think if not for the neck injury and regime change Brad Cottam would've made an impact.
