Muhummad caught a few touchdowns on tuesday with the first team in Smiths absence, Beason and Harris were held out with minor tweaks.

Rookie Safety Charles Godfrey is the starter and according to harris "looks like a veteran already"

Peppers is back to his probowl form. Stopping a reverse for a 15 yard loss today.

Where the hell was the receiver running?

The receiver is generally about ten yards behind the line of scrimmage when they take a hand off for a reverse. They tried to cut around peppers by going a bit deeper and didn't respect his speed. 15 yard might be an exaggeration, its what Steve Reed mentioned. I wasn't physically there. I'm a few thousand miles away.

Keith Rivers practiced for the first time this morning and DC Mike Zimmer was giddy about his performance. Even with missing this much time he was impressed with what Rivers remembered from OTA's as well as how quickly he picked up the new stuff. He will probably even play in the 1st preseason game Monday Night.

Also, praise continues for OLB Brandon Johnson who was acquired from the Arizona Cardinals. Even with Keith Rivers coming to camp to become our starting WLB, LBers coach Jeff Fitzgerald says,"He showed us something. It's not like he's going to go on the shelf by any stretch of the imagination. As a matter of fact, we've got to try and get him on the field some kind of way."

Hackett was carted off with a very minor ankle sprain, linebackers Na'il Diggs and Jon Beason continue to rest, Harris was rested also.

Jason Carter has been really impressive and is believed to be fighting hard for a starting spot.

Team will likely keep Smith, Muhummad, Hackett, Jarrett and either Carter or Robinson I can't see the team keeping six WRs.

i'm very interested to see how carter does in preseason, i doubt he can match the hype coming out of camp but we'll see. i don't really want to cut robinson because he was starting to really come along at the end of the season and by all accounts was having a pretty good camp before he got injured

I remember seeing tons of reports of him doing the best of our wideouts, burning our 1st team D, and having the best synergy with jackson and still getting cut :((((

Minor sprain from what they were saying, likely won't play against the colts imo.

I tend to be skeptical and take a wait and see approach to reports coming out of camp, but it seems as if Tony McDaniels is the star of the camp on the defensive side of the ball. The 6'7" 310 lb bears an uncanny resemblance to Marcus Stroud. He came out of school too early and a combination of injury concerns and off field issues made him go undrafted. But he's flourishing in Jacksonville right now and could combine with John Henderson to make Jacksonville's middle just as dominant as it was when Stroud was in his prime.

I think its pretty safe to say that David Jones will be our third corner this season. Our third corner meaning that he has supplanted incumbent Deltha O'Neal. Not bad for a 5th round draft pick who was cut by the Saints.

Sounds interesting but he's kind of too tall to be a dominant DT, a stout guard around the 6"3 range will always have leverage.

Um, Stroud was 6'6" and Henderson is 6'7" as well. You can be tall and still play defensive tackle if you use proper technique. You just can't stand straight up right out of your stance. It hurts nose tackles more than defensive tackles as well, because they have to command a double team and hold the point of attack for two different gaps.

Henderson and Stroud have some of the best technique in the NFL, All I'm saying is, if a kid who's 6-6 had technique issues in the past (he went undrafted after all), he might take a little longer to transfer over to be a good starter that's all I meant.
