I dont think we should worry a whole lot about the PI's. Last season we started out the year with alot of PI's. One of the calls was bogus, another one or two shouldve been called.

I thought Nick Collins and Atari Bigby both had solid games. Many people have been calling for Rouse, but unless an injury happens I don't see him getting significant PT. Collins and Bigby were both very aggresive tonight, punishing WR's, jarring balls loose, and making solid tackles. Also a nice big play by Bigby with the INT.
Like johbur mentioned though, it will be nice to see how they hold up against a real passing attack, and if they can cut down on the blown coverages they can be a pretty good tandem back there.

If we can get presure on the qb like we did tonight, I'm confident in the secondary's ability to stop passing teams. Hawk was a animal tonight, as was Kampman. The hit Hawk put on Jackson was just not fair, he laid him out.
BTW, Lane Kiffin needs a hug right now, sorry it was totally unrelated to this thread but my god the Raiders are bad.

I thought we played very well over all, Rodgers looked good and once a few big plays were added in we were well on our way.
Hopefully we get Wells back next week and the OLine can stop the stupid penalties although Clifton deserves credit for taking Allen out of the game. Ryan Grant should also get a higher proportion of carries and that should help out as well.
Also I was slightly concerned that Jackson was able to complete so many passes in the second half despite being pressured constantly. Although having said that none of the secondary played badly and I though Nick Collins looked very good.

some random thoughts:
-i don't think i can say anything about Rodgers that wasn't already said, but he was obviously impressive. showed everything ya want to see. good deep ball. smart decision making. ability to run. great poise in the pocket. that TD pass was...well...there's no other way to say it..Favre-esque.
-didn't the vikings sign Jared Allen in the off season? i could've sworn i heard something about that. seriously. chad clifton was dominant.
-as expected, the interior o-line got kinda owned by the Williams sisters. but, they were adequate in not letting the pocket collapse from the inside. and, we obviously didn't run much because of the mismatch in the middle.
-too many boneheaded moments. i would expect a lot of penalties in the opener, but the holding call when we were just running down the clock was inexcusable. getting the ball with 2:38 left and giving it back with 1:51 left when the other team used 1 timeout is terrible. terrible.
also boneheaded was Atari Bigby returning that interception. nothing to gain. everything to lose. showed a lot of immaturaty and hot-headedness there.
-refs were on our side. 2 PI calls against the Packers didn't get called. that helps. i can't remember the last time i used the phrase "refs were on our side."
-brad childress is a bad coach. seriously, AD was ripping off decent runs on a consistent basis early in the game, but, just like the 2 vikings games last year, Brad Childmolester gave up on the run as soon as his team was losing and put the game squarely on Jackson's shoulders. NOT a good idea.
-Will Blackmon's return was really really exciting to watch.
-great pressure by the D-line...and, i was surprised by the amount of blitzing. that just wasn't the Packer's MO last year, but, everytime they sent an extra rusher, they were right in Jackson's face.
-as far as things that worry me for the future, that blocked FG was pretty disturbing.

Alright, I'll throw in my input.
Rodgers looked good. He looked really good. This was a tough first test for him, against a premiere defense that supposedly had gotten considerably stronger in the offseason, even. He avoided the pass rush unbelievably well and ran the ball at the right times (ie.. when a Viking came off the edge and had a clear line at him he just turned and took off for the first and then when he was rolling out and instead of making a dumb throw got a 20-yard run.)
That TD pass was unbelievable. He was completely off balance, with 3 guys about to hit him, and somehow threw into perfect coverage and hit the spot on the dime. It was EXACTLY where it needed to be. Crazy, crazy good throw.
His long ball looked terrific and his arm strength, which sometimes goes unnoticed, was awesome. Also helps that our two big receivers, Jennings and Driver, seem to have a good feel for him and both looked as incredible as they ever have. That one TD to Driver that got called back because of a ******** penalty was oh so sweet.
Grant didn't get many chances but was awesome with what he did or at least that long run and the 4 broken ankles at the end of it made up for any lack of production before that. It hasn't been talked about much but there was always a chance he was a fluke last year or went down a notch this year but he seems to be the real deal.
Special teams looked superb EXCEPT for that blocked kick. I wonder if Crosby slipped or something because it looked incredibly low, like he was going for a 60 yarder instead of a 30-some yarder. Maybe just a slip-up there and hopefully won't happen again.
Lots of penalties. Lots of stupid penalties. Yeah, Harris/Woodson could have been called for PI a couple times but.. it's Harris and Woodson, that's to be expected.
Overall.. I was very, very happy. If you consider the missed FG and the ineligible person downfield passing TD that was called back, it would have been 34-19.
Now, we need to take it to the Lions to boost Rodger's and the whole teams confidence going into the big Dallas game.
*edit* Oh and Jared Allen.. you are officially Chad Clifton's *****. GG.

Green Bay - Vikings coach Brad Childress exited Lambeau Field after Monday night's loss to the Packers without shaking Mike McCarthy's hand.
The state television pool feed showed McCarthy at midfield after the game. He looked around puzzled for a minute, apparently searching for Childress, and then McCarthy started to leave the field, shaking the hand of a Vikings assistant along the way.

That's a bit of a dick move.

come to think of it...the NFC north coaches, McCarthy, Childress and Marinelli all look like they should be on Dateline talking to Chris Hanson.
lovie smith is normal looking...but, his name is Lovie.

The way you choose to quote it, yes.
Here's what it says directly after what you posted

McCarthy and Childress did exchange phone calls on Tuesday. McCarthy said there are no hard feelings on his part. Childress was tough to find because he was still talking to quarterback Tarvaris Jackson, who was upset over his late interception

Titletown, you should work in the news. That's some skillful manipulation of the facts. By the way, what does your love of Valdosta stem from?

It dosen't matter which way I quoted it to tell you the truth. The fact of the matter if he didn't shake him hand after the game. He was caressing Tjack? Big deal, every coach knows it's proper etiquette to shake hands at midfield after the game has ended. It was a dick move. It dosen't matter if he called up MM and apologized later, he still didn't shake his hand, which was the subject, Fact, and what I posted.
My love of Valdosta?
