The Titans CB's are unique. They're primarily tacklers rather than true cover guys, though they're quite adept at jumping routes. The Titans pass-rush compliments them greatly. QB's have to get rid of the ball on quick drops or slants, and the CB's are there to break up the pass, tackle the WR, or even intercept the ball. In fact, the Titans' leading tackler is CB Nick Harper, followed by SS Chris Hope, and then CB Cortland Finnegan. The DB's are leading the team in tackles. Finnegan was a FS at Samford, and brings that physicality to the position. Harper played in a Cover 2 most of his career also. Even Michael Griffin was started at CB. I think that's what sets them apart from other CB's around the league.
One player to keep an eye on, and other Titans fans have heard me preaching this, is Eric King. The Titans picked him up in 2006, and he's been developed behind the likes of Cortland Finnegan and Chris Hope. In fact, King is a Finnegan clone. They play just alike - it's uncanny. I feel King will make a name for himself in the same fashion. Rise up through the ranks and force the coaches to give him more and more playing time. Everytime he's on the field, he's a part of the play. Having both Finnegan and King as the future is exciting!
Still Team The Ke$ha!!!
