I'm going to borrow an idea i got from another forum. Basically, you list players who played bad on your team, or good on the other team, that "stole" a victory away from your team.

I have to give it to Barry Sims and Mark Roman. Roman got burnt on a 61 yard pass to a tight end, and collided with Nate Clements as he was about to pick off a pass from Pennington. And as soon as Sims came in to the game due to injury, the 49ers faced constant pressure from the right side. Of course on 4th and 10 to end the game, Porter beats Sims 1 on 1 to end the game. True thieves.

Don't know where to start today, but it comes down to Kerry Collins or Justin McCareins if we're talking just players and not coaches. Terrible days from both.

The fact the Steelers won makes the Texans game somewhat meaningless from a home field POV, but if Collins and his oddly chosen favourite target in McCareins are even half as bad next week against the Steelers, it will be uggglllly.

? How does the fact we won make that game irrelevant?

I was under the impression you guys had to lose that game and we win out for #1 seed.

Our defense at the end of the game. Just like our last 5 losses. All of them we were in position to win and our defense lets the opponent score on a long drive to win the game.

Pete Kendall stole a victory from the Skins against the Rams when he had a Walter Peyton moment and thought that he would run for a first down got hit, fumbled, and the Rams ran the fumble back to the house 70 yards. Joe Gibbs either last year or the year before cost us a victory by getting a 15 yard penalty to move the other team into easy field goal range. It was like a 50 something yard kick against the wind, after being criticized all year for not icing the kicker Gibbs finally did it. Problem is he did it two times in a row and calling 2 time outs in a row is a penalty.

Because whether the Titans won today or not doesn't matter if the Steelers won today. By winning today, the Steelers have made it so next week's Steelers @ Titans game will determine the #1 seed, regardless of the Texans game. The only way the Texans game mattered is if the Ravens won today.

It's possible if the Titans won today and lost to the Steelers next week that they could still be #1 - the Steelers would have to lose week 17. So the Texans game wasn't entirely useless - losing has eliminated a way for the Titans to clinch the #1. But really, all losing did was make next week's matchup 100% for the #1 seed instead of 99%.

On paper anyway. God knows what it did to the team's morale and health status with Haynesworth going down late.
