Gran Torino was good overall, it was also awesome being from the area and knowing the cross streets and such in the film.
I have to give Slumdog Millionaire big props. The movie was really well done. Probably the best movie of the year for me.

I rewatching The Illusionist right now. It's a good movie, but I've always thought the Prestige was the better 2006 magician movie.
So what does everyone here think?

The Prestige is infinitely better then The Illusionist...The Prestige is one of my favourite movies of the last 5 years...I know a lot of people felt cheated by the ending of The Prestige, but I absolutely loved it.
"Abrakadabra"
Just awesome.

I thought the ending was amazing. I saw the Illusionist first and thought the ending was good. Then I went and rented the prestige and was blown away by the ending. Prestige > Illusionist, however both are good movies.

My top 5's:
Christian Bale and the Prestige as far as actor and movie. I love Bale in nearly every movie he has been in save for the one with Collin Farrel and the pocahontus story, haha.
But it's a sweet sweet movie (The Prestige) and leaves you with that weird feeling in your gut at the ending trying to interpret what just went down.

I just thought about this listening to the interview CBS had with Kerry Collins.
I'm really glad the movie Any Given Sunday was made when it was. At the time it was made, you had Daunte Culpepper, you had Donovan McNabb, you had Aaron Brooks and it looked like quarterbacks who could throw but alwo make plays with their feet was the wave of the future in the NFL. Having seen what happened to those guys, that movie simply would have not been made today.

Gran Torino is projected to bring in a surprisingly high box office number, probably making it Clint's biggest opening weekend ever.

I thought they were both good. I preferred The Prestige. I found it to be much more rewatchable when they were both on HBO 24/7 for about 4 months. Illusionist is a real solid 1 time watch though.
But yea, loved Prestige.

Perhaps you liked the Illusionist's ending better because it reminded you of your sig...

Well Prestige has a mindfuck ending as well in the same mold, but yeah I see where you're coming from lol it is really similar to my sig's ending. Although the movie in my sig is a hundred times better overall and with the ending.

Prestige really isn't a mind **** movie per se, just a unique twist onthe genre.

I'm doing this type of question for the second time today, but...
The Empire Strikes Back is on Spike. Best Star Wars episode - agree or disagree? I agree.

OBVIOUSLY ITZ RETURN OF THE SITH OR WHATEVER #3 WAZ!
Hayden Christiansen is SUCH A HOTTIE!
Return of the Jedi for me. I saw them all when I was like 10 and I remember hating when Luke got his hand cut off for some reason, and it kind of stuck with me.

Return of the Jedi > Empire.
Ewoks and Jabba ftw!!!
and Luke's hand was cut off in Empire, not Return of the Jedi.

I used to think Return of the Jedi, what with the forcefulness of the conclusion of the trilogy. But Strikes Back is simply a better movie all around.

Yep, you've got to love Return of the Jedi because of the ending, but really it's hard to argue that it's better overall than The Empire Strikes Back.

Perhaps a more interesting discussion is which prequel episode is better - the lesser of three evils. And here I pick Episode 3. Again, forcefulness of conclusion.
