I agree it's too early to call Gholston a bust, but it's ridiculous to suggest he wasn't one of the biggest disappointments in football.
Established players have expectations based on previous performance at the pro level. When they fail to meet those expectations they should earn a spot on the "all-disappointment team" at the end of a season.

Rookies have hype that they have to live up to. Some fail. The question becomes, imo, was the hype to much, was the coaching bad, or did the player truly disappoint? Perhaps the scouting +/- herd mentality amongst "the gurus" and draftniks should be the focus of our disappointment.

When the stud fails and we already know he's a proven stud, that is a big disappointment.

I don't like seeing a rookie on such a list because, unlike their professional counterpart that has been in the league for xx number of seasons, the rook has no body of work as a pro on which we can base the expectations.

people will always EXPECT a first round draft pick to produce. SInce Gholston didnt, he therefore DISAPPOINTED.

I still think Tommie Harris deserves to be on there. i think half of his sacks are against the lions when Orlovsky tripped on the field. that after signing like the highest contract for a DT before the season

You could actually put Seattle's entire defense on the list of biggest disappointments. Returning all eleven starters, they were supposed to carry the Seahawks deep into the playoffs this year (possibly even super bowl, ask Chris Berman). Instead they were 30th in overall defense, 18th in run defense, and dead last in pass defense. If that isn't a disappointment I don't know what is.

Honestly, I don't see why Jason Taylor is on this list either. Who was expecting him to be good this year? I certainly wasn't.

Wasn't it pretty obvious that he is on his very last legs and went to Washington to pick up his last few game checks and fade away? Aren't the Redskins the place where veteran legend players go to wind it down?

4 Cowboys.

Redskins are closest with 1.5 -- can't count Hall and the kicker is worth 1/2.

I hate when writers say things like they did about Deangelo without even knowing how he did as a skin. And lol to Suisham he sucks he actually kind of did better than expected this year. What were they expecting him to magically bang out 70 yard FG's.

Gholston ison there because Mangini called him out for being a bust and wasted pick. That might go down as another Mike Mamula type draft pick and Mangini saw it and was pissed.

McFadden and Dorsey fine, I'll give them more time, but Gholston didn't even play, that means guys who were suckier in talent but have been around for a million years were playing ahead of him. Chris Long started every single game and played virtually every single down. The kid, as much as I dispise Long, actually contributed to the team effort. Gholston was pure and utter waste of space. Do I think he will have a Broderick Bunkley type Soph season? Absolutely not, they said when he was drafted that he was a soft athlete and not a hardened football player and they were right. You can't tell me that a top 10 pick that has played standing up in college couldn't have contributed more, especially with some of the beasts around him to take pressure off of him. So he ranks most def as the biggest rookie dissapointment.

Colston? Why, exactly? Because you just took a quick glance at his stats? He missed 5 1/2 games with a torn ligament in his thumb, which was not healed up until after the week 9 bye. He was hurt for basically the first half of the season; look what he did in the final 8 games: 42 catches, 678 yards, 5 TDs. That would have put him on pace for 84, 1356, and 10 over a full season of health. I guess his injury was disappointing, but I'd hardly call his play a disappointment...
