On October 23, 2005 while playing against the Dallas Cowboys he made 2 field goals over 50 yards, including a 55 yarder and a 50 yarder as time expired to win the game.
On October 15, 2006, he kicked a 54-yard walk-off field goal while time ran out against the St. Louis Rams to win the game 30-28. Although it would have been a 49 yard kick, Seattle was called for an illegal formation penalty. Unlike a false start penalty there was no 10-second run-off so Brown still had a chance to work his magic, albeit from 54 yards out. On November 27, 2006, he tied his career best by kicking four field goals in a snowy Monday Night Football game against the Green Bay Packers, and amazingly, all four field goals were made in the first half. On December 3, 2006, Brown kicked a 51 yard field goal to win the game against the Denver Broncos, making it his fourth game winning kick in the last minute in the 2006 season.

How is this not a good move? They keep one of the best kickers in the league off the market, and the amount they have to pay him isn't that high anyway.

No wonder why they are gonna finish last place in a division consisting of the Arizona Cardinals, they're franchise player is a kicker.

Apparently the Seahawks really are in southern Alaska, because people have no idea what they're talking about in respects to the team.

That was in jest, if the plethora of smilies didn't get that point across.

My bad. Since many people here and elsewhere have said that, as well as the fact that the smilies could denote much more that sarcasm, you could see where that wasn't as clearly visible as assumed.

you guys are being sarcastic right?
this was an absolutely necessary move by the Seahawks. just over 2 million is probably a bargain for one of the best and most clutch kickers in the league.

What about the franchise that lost to the seahawks TWICE on game winning field goals? Where would they rank in the saddness scale?

In all seriousness, I think recently that you can replace both punters and kickers in the draft with relative ease and the Seahawks may be well advised to focus on other areas of need instead of Josh Brown. But then again this is the franchise who refused to pay top dollar for Steve Hutchinson but then spent similar money for Nate Burleson so enough said. And with that...
Matt Stover > Josh Brown :D :D :D
