It's not like we didn't scout him and once mike D came aboard we suddenly decided to select gallo, our scouts have been watching this kid for a few years now and Walsh was very high on him as well. Unless we brought in a different coach with whom gallo just didn't fit we'd probably have selected Gallinari with or without coach D'antoni.
IDK I guess you can't say that it's 100% true Walsh might have still picked Gallo if D'Antoni wasn't the coach.

...like he didn't break down film, didn't watch him in private workouts and didn't talk to his European contacts including the guy's father in building his own evaluation of the player?
Walsh doesn't have such a rich history of drafting Euros that would lead me to believe Gallinari would've been the pick. If he had, that would've been on thing, but he doesn't.
