Plummer wants to dictate his own future as to where he wants to play next year and this is the reason I opted to retire right now.

He will come out of retirements just before the training camp begins and he will get cut by the broncos then he will end up in Houston with Kubiak.

I don't think Denver wants to carry a QB as a back up who will make more then 7 MM.

i think that if he comes back after we've addressed all the positions on the team, shanny wouldn't think twice about keeping him on the roster all year just for screwing the team over.

If being paid your full multi-million salary for holding your clipboard and rooting for Jay Cutler to do a better job is a form of punishment, then that's punishment I wouldn't mind being served on myself.

I agree. He'd better be serious about retiring, otherwise he's just putting himself in a bad situation.

he'd already have had to repay his entire signing bonus. plus, he decided to retire rather than go to tampa where h'ed actually have an opportunity to play. i think he'd be unhappy enough not even being allwoed in the broncos locker room and watching the rest of his career wash away.

Plummer hasn't turned in his retirement papers yet, he's just telling the Broncos that he wants to go to Houston where he'd have just as good a shot at winning the starter's spot, if not better. Plummer would much rather take his chances with Gary Kubiak than Jon Gruden, on pure coaching and familiarity with the offense as well as Kubiak is far more likely to still be the head coach for his team in 2008. Completely understandable.

I think it's a smokescreen. I don't think he'd actually retire, he's just saying it to get traded to a team where he can have more success. Smart move, actually. But it's a sissy thing to do.
