Russell gone after season?
We owe him $3million in guaranteed money according to Mort. If Al doesnt believe in him he should be gone. I sure hope Russell is cut

I hope it'll happen but I think they won't want to give up on him yet...i think they'll bring him back and start him next season too and then bench him again

I think it depends on if Russell gets back in this season. If he doesnt he should be gone, if he does I think we will keep him. I really hope Al realizes that he isnt a NFL QB

As long as Cable is here I feel the only way he will go back to Russell is if he alleviates those chronic concerns that have stifled his progress. Of course, we don't know very much about the current state of that situation, but if he has, then it's in the organization's best interest to give him one more crack at becoming the QBotF.
You would figure that he would have to outperform Gradkowski in that manner, who has Cable pleased for his work in the film room and the practice field as well as for the future prospects of this offense, which he can see coming together now, so he does have an uphill battle in that regard to win him over. The one problem, though, is that there's only man in reality that he has to win over and all other opinions at this point are moot. His assessment of Russell's progress remains the real mystery.

Sunflower seeds.
If Russell would renegotiate his deal, dedicate himself in the offseason, and compete for that starting gig in camp next season, it would make sense to hold onto him. Otherwise, he's just a financial drain on an organization that's struggling to stay afloat.

No offense, but your Raiders draft sucks.

Q: But if they ask you to rework your deal?
Russell: Oh, no. That’s over and done with. I don’t even consider that as a part of it.

Q: Are your weight and work ethic not an issue, it’s just the on-field performance?
Russell: Yeah, that’s about it.

Q: How would you grade yourself this season?
Russell: Uh, kind of hard because there was times where you try to get guys a chance to make plays and at the early part of the year, it wasn’t happening. So, the quarterback job, I say he looks for more help around from everybody because he can’t do it himself. It wasn’t so well but at times it was. When we look at film, it don’t be as bad as it seems on the field always.

Q: What are people going to see when you hit the field again?
Russell: A totally different JaMarcus. People going to have their opinion, and I really don’t pay too much attention to that. I worry about JaMarcus and JaMarcus only.

Ya don't say...

JR is a complete asshat. The guy has to be incredibly stupid to not realize how bad he is after the way he played.

Atleast we can all agree no one is better at sitting on the bench and wearing that beanie then him. If Russell will not take a pay cut we absolutely have to cut him. It isn't the money that bothers em as much as he thinks he deserves it when honestly he doesent deserve the change in my cupholder. Maybe if we force him to take this pay cut or threaten to cut him it will kick his ass in to high gear in fear of wanting that money back, since thats all he gives a **** about.
