What's even more incredible is that NO one but Leach offered James a scholarship, and even his WR coach wanted no part of him, and he got him fired. There is talk that he will transfer to SMU, but will they even want him?

There were much bigger issues between Leach and Texas Tech's AD. The only reason that this got out is so that they could use it against him. I don't condone what Leach did, he should know better. But there are more things that will surface as this goes on.
Exactly. Those that want to defend him only look at the incident that makes headlines. How about his commments to players after a loss that they are more interested in their fat girlfriends. Anyone that needs a reminder that this is 2k10 needs a refresher course on what is tolerable and what isnt.

It wasn't that they where more interested by their FLG but that those FLG were telling them that it would be an easy win. It was a general remark surely not aimed at anyone. It could be mom, dad, friend, teacher, anybody. Saying "fat little girlfriends" had more of an impact, thats all. Thats part of the character.

Meanwhile Jim Leavitt and George(whatever) O'Leary still have their jobs.

what the hell, are you being serious? Fat little girlfriends is offensive? That is a non-issue and his way of saying, "the players came out and were not ready to play."

This is supposedly Adam James in the actual shed (Dec. 19th) after the coach shacked him up in there...

Come on man my high school football coaches yelled much worse things then 'fat girlfriend'. This is football, not tiddlywinks, coaches yell and get in players faces. Sounds like some players just didnt get the pampering they desired.

Default Suddenly lots of interest in the Red Raiders HC job

Here's Barnhart's article on Tuberville very publicly expressing an interest in the Texas Tech job. Also word from the Great State college FB rumor mill is that Baylor's Art Briles is on the their short list for a replacement HC.

Tuberville expresses interest in Texas Tech opening
Dec. 31, 2009
By Tony Barnhart
CBS Sports

Former Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville told CBSSports.com on Thursday that he would be interested in the vacant head coaching job at Texas Tech.

Tuberville, who has been a head coach for 14 seasons (four at Ole Miss, 10 at Auburn), last coached in 2008, when his Auburn team went 5-7. Prior to that, Tuberville had posted eight straight winning seasons at Auburn, including a 13-0 record and an SEC championship in 2004. Tuberville had beaten rival Alabama six straight times before losing to the Crimson Tide 36-0 in 2008.

Tuberville has experience in the Texas area as he served as defensive coordinator at Texas A&M in 1994.

Tuberville, a native of Arkansas, took this season off to watch his two young sons play football. He still lives in Auburn.

"It feels like it's time to get back in," said Tuberville, who turned 55 on Sept. 18 and has a career record of 110-64. "I'm still young and I feel good. We'll see if anything happens."

Texas Tech coach Mike Leach was fired on Wednesday for what the school characterized as "insubordination" after an incident with player Adam James. Defensive coordinator Ruffin McNeill is serving as interim coach for Saturday's Alamo Bowl.

And when i played the coaches would literally put their hands on you to get their point across. Times have changed if nobody has noticed.

**** you ESPN... God Damn. The Texas Tech players are trying to celebrate their bowl win, and they agree to do your interviews. Ask them how it feels to end their careers with a win, about the game itself, plays etc.

Leave out what they think about coach Leach or Craig James handling of the situation, or who what where and why it all happened. It's like a paparazzi interview. Your better than Perez Hilton, should be atleast.
