Even minus Venom, that movie was doomed.

Just all around god awful movie and I hate when people make excuses for Raimi and say that Venom was the whole reason that movie sucked.

I may be in the minority on this, but as a HUGE Spider-Man fan, I felt that 1 & 2 were great. The 3rd was a ******* abomination.

The first 2 Spiderman movies were phenomenal. They were fantastic movies that were rather faithful to the source material and had groundbreaking effects and solid acting and story. It was the atrocious third one that skewed everyone's opinion of the franchise. To reboot the franchise at this point is just stupid. Its like Hollywood ran out of ideas, so they make a trilogy, and when they cant make a 4th one, they just remake the original 3 movies again. Its pointless and I despise the process.

I wouldnt, not if its a PG-13 movie. How the hell is one of the more badass villains in comics supposed to be chopping people in half in a movie that shows no blood? A Spidey movie with Carnage would of had to be rated R.

I felt that the 4th Spiderman movie, the one that just got cancelled, should of finally turned Curt Connors into The Lizard. They built on the concept for 3 movies, why not actually do it?

The first 2 Spidey movies have not aged well. The 2nd one is still a good film but the first one is just blah.

The first one was okay (Dafoe was one of the very best villian performances in modern hero movies), but I felt the second one was pretty stupid saving a few bright spots. Alfred Molina as Doc Ock was pretty good, but the writing and general story felt a bit flat for me. It's pretty hard for me to take a movie serious when it climaxes with a miniature sun being created in some pier building in New York City.

I liked the 1 & 2 quite a bit. The 3rd one was just so bad on many levels. To many bad guys. Should have just used 1 bad guy. If they wanted to use Venom, then fine. But for the love of god, why Topher Grace!? In the comics Vemon was a hulked out version of black suit spider man, not some skinny geek.

Im not against a revamped version. They do need to give it some time. Reboots have worked well for Batman and the Hulk(Superman not so much.). We need a badass to be spider man this time around.

That one hurts because Routh was great casting IMO.

I didnt mind Superman Returns at all. Routh was pitch perfect as was Spacey. Far from a bad movie, just not a great one.

I just saw Avatar and, surprisingly, I really liked it. The action scenes were insane (especially the last 30 minutes of the film) and the filmmaking is truly remarkable. The story isn't very original, but I didn't really care. I watched the previews and trailers and thought it looked awful, then my friend was dying to see it and he couldn't see it alone, so I said, "What the ****. Why not?" Half way through the movie I'm just completely immersed into the movie and its stunning visuals. I didn't watch it in 3D and I never will, but this is one of the best sci-fi movies I've ever seen. Cameron throws in his usual corny ass dialogue that got close to ten head shakes or rolling eyes.

Still, it's easily one of the better movies of the year and I think it could be Cameron's best film. Loved Stephen Lang's caricature and performance.

Also watched The Cooler. Great movie, great acting that just gets better and better as the film evolves. Very entertaining movie. William H. Macy gives the best performance of his career and Baldwin might have done the same.

On the topic os the spiderman movies. I waited years for a movie to see Spidey and Venom face off, and they went and ****** it all up. I wanted carnage as well but Venom was what I was waiting for. Maybe Raimi hates that story line so much because he didnt get it, I mean Peter with the symboite was supposed to be more aggressive and he turned him into an emo dancing ****.

If any superhero movie deserves a remake in my mind its the X-men comics. Their was so much potential and great story lines to explore and again, the third one sunk any hopes of that. I'm glad Nolan seems to be taking his time with the Batman one, if he does it at all.

Again though, the first 2 Xmen movies were great when Singer was in charge, and apparently hes returning for the 4th, which is great news for comic fans. There is absolutely no reason to reboot the Xmen franchise, and the Wolverine: Origins movie damn near killed me with the way they murdered the backstories of so many important characters. The less Fox has to do with Marvel characters, the better.

If ANY comic movie made so far deserves a reboot, its Daredevil. And it needs to be R-Rated and as much as I love Ben Affleck, it needs to be someone totally badass playing Daredevil...I actually think Michael C Hall would make a FANTASTIC Daredevil, for anyone who has read the comics.
