Billfold Warfare! I love it. Maybe we can't beat them every year any more, but we can make 'em think they have to pay $7.2897 Million dollars (piny firmly in corner of mouth) to a 3rd down/return specialist.
Sproles is a local kid and I couldn't be happier for his bank account and success in the NFL, (as long as he isn't playing the Chiefs) but that is way to much money for as few touches as he gets in any game.

I saw a statistic on NFL Network last night that Sproles has something like 1600 yards and 15 touchdowns offensively in his career. I don't know what his return totals would add, but that is seriously a ton of money for what is statistically a small amount of production. I know he alters games now, but you have to wonder at his size how much his body can handle.
Also, wouldn't mind a 2nd rounder for DJ (which I think is possible and plausible) and a 3rd for any of the other guys tendered (which I don't think is likely). Add some (what is now) day 2 picks, I think there are a ton of players in the 3rd tier of players that would help the Chiefs immensely.

IMO the most we could get for DJ is a 3rd if that and I would take that deal.

Good stuff. Probably no one will be willing to give that kind of compensation and it won't be that expensive.

Like I said in the FA thread, I'd give them a 3rd but not a 2nd. We have way too many needs and this draft will be deep in the 2nd.

It sounds like a 3rd is all Arizona is asking and obviously our pick will be higher than the other teams. I would love to have a WR who would actually catch the ball when it's thrown to him. As much as we need picks, I would applaud a Boldin deal if we can make it happen.

Well, with other teams interested it could easily push into a second. I love Q, always have, but idk. Would rather keep our seconds to address the OL personally.

If we only had one second round pick I would agree but since we have two I would have no problem sending our last second for Boldin.

NE doesn't even have a 3rd. So at this point it's safe to assume the trade involves a second, unless they're willing to accept a 2011 pick. Which would just be stupid, considering the depth in this draft.

It's not 100% yet.
At this point I'd almost rather have Walter anyways.

No, don't do it. Give them a third and that's it. Don't cave.

He's also going to be 30 and is frequently hurt.
I want Boldin as much as the next guy but I don't want to hurt our future for it. He won't even be on the team when we finally become competitive. What is the end game here?

The whole he is going to be 30 thing is getting played out 30 is not what it used to be there are 30+ year old WR's all over the NFL playing at a high level.

Re-read what I said, Splat. I didn't say he was losing a step or that he couldn't (or anyone) play past 30, but he will be 33 or 34 by the time we are COMPETITIVE. Why in gods name would you trade a mid-second for someone who won't be around when we really need him?
Again, I love Boldin, and I always have, but I don't REALLY see the point of giving up anything more than a third.

You don't see the Chiefs being competitive in 2011 when Boldin will be 31?
