Greg Giraldo is on Wanda Sykes' round table right now. As unfunny as her show and as irrelevant as Nick Cannon is, Giraldo is worth checking out if even for a few minutes.

Damn, and Rachael Leigh cook is gorgeous. Just another reason I'm bummed at her dismissal on Psych.

Anyone here anything about Justified that's starting on FX starring Timothy Olyphant? It just looks extremely badass and I need that void filled since I began boycotting 24.

I've seen a few previews and it looks good enough to watch the pilot to see what it's like.. but I'm not sure if it's something I'd watch long term.

Breaking Bad returns Sunday March 21st for season 3. Bryan Cranston is by far my favorite meth-dealing high school teacher. I cannot contain my excitement. Breaking Bad rivals Dexter for the title of completely ****ed up, yet somehow incredibly satisfying.

Burn Notice finale with spoiler alerts
The Burn Notice season finale was really just teasy enough, didn't go full bore cliffhanger. The writers love to tease us with Westen getting his old life back over & over but fans who follow it closely know it just isnt going to be, like him marrying Fiona & living happy ever after. Is it that his character is that naive?
Maybe they write Management into ever season finale script just to give us a black ops world hierarchy handle. And new villain Simon is the most evil yet.....
Big season & big episode for Sharon Gless though, had her buddy Tyne Daly in the opener as a guest & she did her best performance of the series when she went to jail for her son.
Long haul until June for the 4th season though....

If Michael Westen ever got his old life back the show would end. So far I think the writers (most notably Matt Nix) have done an excellent job keeping the story going, though I'm not sure how long it can continue. I don't see the show being as successful with the season long story arc. I don't think it can stand on its own with just the week to week case.
I'm still damn excited for season four though. Can't wait. June is a while away though. :(

You're boycotting 24? Damn shame. Justified does look awesome though, mainly because it has CLEETUS VAN DAM.
I'd love to see one of the USA shows actually pull off a season long arc instead of being a procedural. I enjoy Psych and all but I'd love to see what they could do if they worked an entire arc over a season with maybe some minor cases filtered in along the way.

I just couldn't take it anymore, I didn't even enjoy this past season after the honeymoon phase of me and Renee's relationship wore off. I buckled down cause I'm a ***** with no integrity, and what I witnessed was so terrible I couldn't take it. Jack gets stabbed and seems to be fine in a half hour and later gets sprayed in the shoulder and plays it off like no big deal. On top of that, there is absolutely no believable way that Jack can pull off an undercover rule. What villain doesn't know who the **** Jack Bauer is?! Seriously? And the way they justified him being able to do this is by giving him a goddamn pair of glasses and a piece of **** accent.
FX never disappoints me with shows, so I have high hopes for Justified. I'm also kinda digging the Walker, Texas Ranger feel.

What really sucks is that apparently Comcast here had the episode that aired tonight on-demand so I watched it a few days ago, thinking I had missed TWO episodes.. but I hadn't. So now I don't have an episode to watch. :(
Side note: I caught up on Caprica, and the last two episodes were really good.

Brod nailed it in the 2nd quote, the story arc on the USA summer replacements like BN, Psych, & Royal Pains is short b/c they didnt expect them to last past one season, so they focused on characterization. When they are extended into multiple season the writers have to improvise with elaborate entangled plotlines that play hell with suspension of disbelief from the viewers, most of whom watch in 2nd season or 3rd season & say Huh? There are redundancies & repetitive detective story plots that become boring b/c it's the same situation with different actors over & over.
It was the same back in the day with classic B&W detectives like Peter Gunn, Burke's Law, Mike Hammer, etc. Plot repetition continued into the 70s with those classics with high production values & top shelf acting like the Rockford Files, which btw BN reminds me of a lot.

Luckily looks like this one will end up being an epic episode to leave something tasty for season 5.

I'm looking for a new show.. I see lots of talk about Mad Men, Breaking Bad, and Burn Notice.. which would you recommend of these 3? My favorite shows are The Wire, Dexter, The Office, Eastbound & Down, Freaks and Geeks for reference.

Out of those I would choose Breaking Bad, because Bryan Cranston is an acting god.

You can't really go wrong with Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Psych or Burn Notice. All fantastic shows.
Personally, I'd recommend Psych. It's one of my favorite shows and always good for laughs every episode, but only if you want to see a comedy.
