I don't get why hitters swing at the first pitch whenever it isn't right down the middle. It always baffles me. I know it's being agressive and I like that, but take a pitch first.

Soriano is fantastic at swinging at a first pitch if it's a breaking ball. Particularly if it starts about thigh height and is below the knees before reaching home.

Similarly, if there's 2 strikes, apparently fastballs at your face are a good option to swing at.

Im really excited to see the Giants starting off hot. We got the pitching and as of now the hitting is also looking like it improved. I still think we need to go out and get one power hitter behind Pablo if we want to try to be a real contender but I think with the team we have right now we could win the west
