the douchebags icing idiots thread was just too painful.
really liked the saison du buff (dogfishhead/victory/stone collab) recently... wish it was big bottle, however. the herbs sounded a bit odd on the label, but none of it was overpowering. will have to pick up a few more when i'm in town again.

Name a dogfish head beer that isnt either great or interesting. I usually ignore the price if I see a brew of theirs I havent tried. Though, the 90 minute is always a go-to if I am feeling fancy.

The Black and Blue? Because I hate blueberries. And they have a raspberry one I'm not fond of. Mainly because I don't lke those two fruits.

I'm with Jughead on the Black and Blue. It has a very weird aftertaste that I didn't enjoy much.

I find Victory to be on par with Stone and Dogfish if I were to reccomend a place to start go with the Nugget Nectar it = greatness.

Yeah that Rasberry one was about the worst 15 bucks I ever spent. I was really mad I bought that.

Got some of this last weekend. The hemp thing is purely a marketing gimmick, as it neither tastes nor smells like it in any way. I guess it's just brewed with hemp seeds in it or something. I dunno. Either way, it's just a mediocre ale in cool packaging.

Hemp Ale is moderately popular around here. It's the same sort of plant as Hops are, so it's a pretty easy substitution, but like you said it doesn't really carry any real visceral character to the beer. There are a handful of properly intoxicating beers available in medicinal shops in the area, but Hemp Ale is basically only relevant in terms of marketing.
Any of you southern Cal guys familiar with this?
It remains one of most interestingly tasty beers I've ever enjoyed.

Bought this Winter Solstice seasonal ale on a whim the other day and was blown away. Fantastic beer and I shall be on the search for more Anderson Valley Brewing beers.

To me, Anderson Valley is the 2nd best mid-scale brewing company in California, sitting only behind Russian River. Start with their Boont Amber Ale and move from there.

I was extremely disappointed by the peche lambic. Way too fruity in my opinion, I felt like I was drinking sparkling juice.

Their **** be fruity, that's for sure. The peach one was just the best photo of a Lambic I could find, normally I go for their slightly darker versions.
