CP3+Melo+Amar'e >>> Wade+James+Bosh

Melo is a scoring machine. Amar'e and Bosh cancel out. New York would just have a more complete team with a superstar point guard, a top five big man, and a superstar wing. Plus if they keep Gallo, i'd like him over Mike Miller.

Daniel Orton will never be as good of a roleplayer as Bo Outlaw was.

I think Orton can be a Kendrick Perkins type in 3-4 years.

I really don't think he'll develop the nastiness that Perkins has, mainly because he's so damn lazy and terrible.

I agree, we all saw what D'antoni did for Steve Nash (he's still a hell of a player without him) so I cant even imagine what CP3 would do in that system. Carmelo and Amare would be scoring at will....That would be a scary ******* team.

The Paul, Melo and Amar'e big 3 is perfect. You got your scorer, your facilitator and talented big man. Get a shooter and a center that rebounds and defends(Okafor?).

not to mention he sucks at basketball.

Also, that big three would own. Carmelo is the best offensive player in the league, and you wouldn't at any time during the season be standing around trying to figure out who should do what next. (which will happen with miami thrice)

Per Rotoworld:

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports writes that Matt Barnes is expected to sign a one-year deal with the Lakers, "unless Cleveland raises [their] multi-year offer that starts around $3.5 [million]."
This is a pretty brash decision by Barnes, since the Cavs are offering him about twice as much as the Lakers ($1.7 million) and for more years. It seems unlikely that Cleveland will raise their own high bid, but you never know.

Lol, Kahn is an imbecile.

Timberwolves GM David Kahn said on Thursday that recent acquisition Michael Beasley "is a very young, immature kid who smoked too much marijuana [but] has told me that he's not smoking anymore."
The legend of Kahn grows daily. He went on to say "[Beasley] had a very issue-free season in Miami ... He's an incredible talent, and for us to be able to land him for ... two second-round picks -- that's the kind of risk that I'll take any day of the week."

Why argue about Daniel Orton when Derrick Caracter is obviously the second coming of Shaq?

So if the Magic had Paul, their lineup would be what exactly?

Chris Paul
JJ Reddick
Quentin Richardson
Rashard Lewis
Dwight Howard

Michael Pietrus as the sixth man

Or am I mistaken?

That would be a pretty strong lineup. It would be interesting that the Magic will have stacked the 1 and the 5 and the Heat stacked the 2, 3 and 4. I would love to see that match-up.

I'd assume they'd acquire Okafor in the deal, making it...

Paul
Reddick
Lewis
Okafor
Howard

True.

My guess:

C: Howard -> Okafor
PF: Okafor -> Anderson -> Orton
SF: Lewis -> Pietrus -> Posey
SG: Reddick -> Richardson -> Posey
PG: Paul -> Duhon

I have a feeling that the Magic's overwhelming advantage at the 1 and 5, plus their better overall depth, would do the Heat in. It would be a pretty spectacular series still no doubt....

Orton may never be a competent starter and he was stupid to leave school. Honestly, three years may be pushing it. He's about as raw as any big man to enter the league in some time. We got to see glances at Kentucky, in extended time, he didnt even look like a draftable player. He needs a **** ton of work.

Sure you cant write him off completely...but things are stacked against him. Weight problems, questionable character, far from an NBA ready game. I'll be happy with anything positive we get from him.

What do Magic and Lakers fans feel about this?

There is also then one not involving Pietrus

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMa...radeId=25mxkbm

and one where the Hornets get the max number of expiring deals while shipping Paul, Okafor, and Posey + trade exceptions

What part makes him an imbecile?

why do we need/want chris paul aside from him saying the lakers were one of his possible choices?

His skills would be useless in our system unless we scrap the triangle after phil leaves.

Orlando takes in a **** ton of salary for an upgrade in just one position. Also, the money you'd be paying Okafor to be your backup would be ridiculous.

Okafor would more than likely be the starting PF while Lewis goes to SF
