D'Backs say they have a few offers of equal value on the table, so I expect it to be a little bit more than that

Why do teams cater to the Yankees? That deal for Haren is terrible.

The Reds will use this lineup tonight:
2B Phillips
SS Cabrera
1B Votto
LF Nix
RF Bruce
CF Stubbs
C Hernandez
3B Janish
SP Cueto
Dusty Baker IS the worst manager. Ever.

Manuel might be the 2nd worst.
But after years of a .240 clean up hitter, using our best starters in relief, making bonehead pitching changes (or lack thereof), even worse pinch hitting and almost a refusal to start the young up and comers, Dusty is still the worst.
OCab was TERRIBLE in June. Yet he kept playing of Paul Janish.
The outfield has struggled, yet Chris Heisey is yet to start.
Nick Masset continues to do a wonderful job of giving up base hits and still is put in during close games we have a lead in.
Cordero....If you want a picture of overpaid and overvalued.

I think you just want something to ***** about. Gomes hasn't been hitting well lately, and a righty is pitching. Janish has played excellently this year, and Cairo needs a day off.

That is a terrible line ANY way you want to slice it. I have no problem with Janish at 3rd. NONE. Where did I say otherwise?
Nix ******* blows whale *****. He is terrible. Chris Heisey would be much much better. He has no right and I mean NO right to be batting cleanup.
Janish has been hitting well. And that is why he shouldnt be at the bottom. Below guys who cant buy a hit.
It is laughable. Even with the players in the line up, it could be constructed much better.
If I just wanted something to ***** about, I would be a Browns fan.

Look at that lineup and tell me who should be batting 4th? Bruce has been terrible lately, and there is no one else with power available. Maybe Heisey should be playing, but again, that's a righty-righty matchup, and we still don't have a 4 hitter. Sometimes you have limited options available.
Cabrera just went 2-4. It's safe to say that he can "buy a hit". Bruce just had his best game in a while, going 1-3. He has been awful. No way you can bat him cleanup.
You criticize, but meanwhile you offer no better alternatives.

Put Phillips back at cleanup. Or Joey.
Bruce would be better at clean up. Nix is pathetic.
Heisey hits righties better than lefties.
1. O-Cab
2. Janish
3. Joey
4. Phillips
5. Bruce
6. Heisey
7. Ramon
8. Cueto
9. Stubbs
Without Rolen, we need to look into the LaRussa style of lineup.

Please don't tell me you are complaining about having Dunn as your cleanup hitter for years...
But other than that, yes Dusty is awful.

Phillips was awful in the 4 hole, and I don't think it is a good idea to bounce him around. You could argue Bruce or Nix in the 4 hole either way, but regardless, I don't think it matters much.
I'm not a Nix fan by any means (in fact, he's far and away my least favorite player on the team) but he needs to get some starts as well. I would prefer Heisey, but I can understand the starting of Nix.
As for your earlier complaints about the bullpen, I agree somewhat. I don't know why Dusty has been so insistent on pitching Massett, but I think virtually ever team has a similar problem there.
I really am not a Dusty fan. I think he has been to lenient on players, and he mishandles relievers. However, I really can't complain about this lineup.

Griffey. Then he moved to 3rd. And Dunn took over.
Those two combined was bad. Bad for the club house. Bad on the field.

Ah, well yea idk why Griffey was batting leadoff at that point. But Dunn was fine batting cleanup. In the field, that's a completely different story.
Also, WOOOOOO CUBS!!!! Tyler Colvin with his 2nd straight leadoff HR!! The Cubs actually look like a baseball team again. They're beating teams that aren't good and teams that throw their ****** pitchers at us!

Dunn was bad in the clean up spot for us for the opposite reasons. He tried too hard for HR because it seemed like him and Jr were more interested in that than winning games and doing the little things to win.
Towards the end of each of their tenures here in Cincy, neither were really liked by fans. A lot of animosity.
Little kids and a lot of female fans liked them because they hit pretty home runs.
It took almost being not offered a deal by the then worst team in baseball, to get Dunn to move the 1B. He refused it here.

I think we could get a decent haul for some of these guys (Guthrie, Wigginton, Scott etc) last year we moved Sherrill and got Josh Bell, I think we'd be able to get better players in return for those three guys.
Any White Sox fans here? You guys think Beckham is untouchable still? I'd love to try and get Viceido from them in some kind of deal. San Diego also has a lot of interesting pieces, maybe package Wiggy and Guts for a deal around Simon Castro or Kyle Blanks.
