I really dont see how that is different than just hooking up a computer to a projector while projecting said computer on to a white bed sheet.
mainly because that is what I do.

Johnny Simmons turned in an enjoyably perfect performance as Young Neil in Scott Pilgrim. That was just on my mind.
Anyone know approximately when The Conspirator might come out? I know it's playing at TIFF and could still be a bit away, but I'm into it.

Interview with Laura Shuler Donner about all things Xmen related. Here are a few quotes regarding the Deadpool movie...
Quote:
Q: With all your superhero movies, have you seen a change in 20th Century Fox in the last few years?
Lauren Shuler Donner: You’re going to love Deadpool. You’re going to love Deadpool.
Q: How difficult is it to do that with Ryan being so busy?
Lauren Shuler Donner: You know, Ryan is so committed to being Deadpool. He is Wade Wilson. Well, no, he’s Deadpool. He is so committed to it that he worked with the writers on the script. Even though he’s doing Green Lantern, he’s stayed involved in that project. I’m hoping we’ll get it off the ground next year.
Q: Does Ryan doing Green Lantern help Deadpool?
Lauren Shuler Donner: Oh, yeah, sure. It’s very different. It’s like Harrison Ford doing Star Wars and Indiana Jones. DC and Marvel are different universes with different movies. But sure, the more popular and well known he is the better.

EDIT: LizardState, just read your response. Anthony Swofford wrote the book and was the main character that went to war. You named the guy that read his book and then wrote a screenplay about it.
|
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Broyles,_Jr.
That's true, damn good Broyles screenplay too. BTW Broyles founded Texas Monthly in Austin in '72 & it won every award for regional US mags in the 70s & early 80s.
He wrote Apollo 13 & Castaway among other films, his Vietnam experience gave him a great perspective for war films & a solid basis for comparison with Desert Storm & Vietnam from the Marines' POV. Jarhead & Platoon are similar in that they both have 1st person narration although they are 180-out in terms of war movies. IMHO Broyles is right up there with Oliver Stone & Michael Herr (script consultant on Apocalypse Now) for 1st hand Vietnam knowledge translated to the screen.

Bruce Almighty is on TV. Jim Carey is such a terrible actor.

I'm sure you could have guessed this but T.I cannot act. He just made Paul Walker look like an Oscar nominee.

That is because he's a former NHL goalie. On the other hand, Jim Carrey is a very, very good actor, as you can see if you watch decent movies like The Truman Show, Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind, I Love You Phillip Morris and Man on The Moon. Hell, he was even pretty good acting-wise in the otherwise terrible Number 23 movie.

I'm not a huge movie guy, so there's a lot of stuff i haven't seen. I remember seeing Number 23, but that was a long time ago so i can't really comment much on it because watching it is just about all i remember of it. It just seems that in all his comedies he plays the same wacky, zany character, and that little shtick gets annoying. If you all say he's a good actor outside of his ****** comedies (ace, liar liar, bruce, yes man), i'll take your word for it, you probably know more than i do, but i just hate seeing the same guy over and over again.

While I think he's a very naturally funny guy and usually like his comedies, I agree that his work as an actor in those is quite repetitive and sometimes unimpressive. The guy has greater talent for serious roles than he has for comedic roles (IMO), and it's a shame that directors are consistently casting him in similar comedies like we were still in 1995. But that's the safe-playing law of movie making. Directors and especially producers alike are gonna push for the same actors playing the same roles because they're a proven commodity at it and are sure to bring in a decent revenue.

Carey gives a pretty ******* incredible performance in Man on the Moon. He certainly has shown flashes of brilliance.

'Toy Story 3' achieves rare box office feat
The blockbuster's massive success places it among a very elite group of movies. Only seven films on list "The Billion Dollar Movie Club".
Toy Story 3
The Dark Knight
Alice In Wonder Land (2010)
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King
Titanic
