Houston Texans Draft
just wondering what you guys think they will do. i think they take a pass on AP. Thye signed Ahman Green and i think they wont be drafting a Rb frist round. they have so many needs that are greater right now thatn RB. They need oline which they can get through Levi Brown, Alan Branch, Amobi Okoye and Adam Carriker to help out the Dline. Laron Landry at safety assuming hes still there. Possibly a WR to help out, as well as Brady Quinn as a possibility. There are many other options and i dont see them going RB first round anymore. What do u think?

A common misconception that people think is a need of ours is OT. We do not need another tackle. Guard is a much more pressing need. We could also use a DT. DE is a need but not a first round need, maybe round 3 or second day. Safety is a big need as well. If AD is on board when we pick we will take him. Ahman is solid but not the starter we need. We will take AD if he's there and split carries between the two. CB is also a need.

its not so much that we need more tackles, its that we need a great one. so unless joe t drops, we shouldnt take one. maybe levi brown i think he'd be a reach at 8. We definately need a CB. Hopefully early round 2 we can pick one up.

After the Black signing, I can't see OT being a high consideration.
There's a lot of heavy buzz percolating on Quinn. Whether or not that's posturing, who knows. I think Peterson is still a consideration, but I wouldn't be surprised if they passed and added a back later to join with Ahman Green, Chris Taylor, and Wali Lundy. I think they'll give long consideration to Landry as well there, along with the DT's if they are on the board (and potentially Carriker as well). So that's the short list, I think, as of now. Quinn, Peterson, Landry, Branch, Okoye, Carriker. My guess is that it'll be one of the top 3 guys, Quinn, Peterson, Landry, and that's probably how I'd order it as of now.

ya i was gonna say that too. Their OL is weak no matter how you look at it. They need alot of help. They had a hard time running the ball and couldnt protect Carr at all. MY short list for the Texans include: Quinn, Peterson, Brown, Landry and Okoye.

Now that the Texans have Green, Dayne, Lundi, Taylor on the roster. That's pretty crowded to take another RB, in my opinion.

Dayne is probably gone I think, he's pretty bad anyway not a big loss. I wouldn't be all that surprised to see us take a RB second day if AD isn't there when we pick in the first.

Dont see the Briggs thing happening, but I do see AP happening.. Dayne will be a Goaline and short yardage guy at best and Green will never play out that contract. Potential rumor out there about trading David Carr to Cleveland and another pick or 2 for the #3 pick and the deal not involving #8... that would be a coup !!!! Potentially pick up Quinn or Russell or CJ and get AP at #8 ? WOW that would be an INCREDIBLE upgrade to the Offense..now if you could just get Jake Plummer to come out of retirement...
