2.37 Cody, Shaun
3 72 Wilson, Stanley
5 145 Orlovsky, Dan
6 184 Swancutt, Bill
6b.206 Goddard, Johnathan
UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
*vomits all over the screen*
2nd worst: 2007
1.2 Johnson, Calvin -only good pick obviously
2.43 Stanton, Drew
2.58 Alama-Francis, Ikaika
2.61 Alexander, Gerald
4.105 Davis, A.J.

Its not worth throwing up on your computer.
Three of those guys from 2005 are still in the league (Cody, Orlovsky, and Williams). 3 out of 6 five years later actually isn't bad especially when you consider one of the three on the outside died (wasn't cut and never signed like the rest of the lot). Its just not great and Williams, at the time, didn't play up to his ability so at the time it was a wasted #10 pick.
I'd argue his 2007 swan song was worse. He had more picks and 3 years later most of those guys are long, long gone.

Just LOL at any Millen draft.

An interesting anecdote about Calhoun, confirmed by three different people who were in the Lions' draft room at the time, is that team officials weren't even talking about Calhoun when they were on the clock for the third round in 2006.
The majority of the debate was about an offensive lineman and whether the Lions would be reaching if they took him at that spot. That argument consumed most of the time and when the Lions were pressed for a decision -- and decided not to reach for the lineman -- an offensive coach piped up from the back of the room: "Take Calhoun from Wisconsin.''
And that's how Calhoun became a Lion.
Another Lions official said it wasn't quite as drastic as that, but admits Calhoun was not the focus of the discussion.

his first draft was good. Hell, if he got 3 starters/ 1 pro bowler every draft, he'd be amazing.
1. 18 Backus, Jeff
2a.50 Raiola, Dominic
2b. 61 Rogers, Shaun
5a. 148 Anderson, Scotty
5b.149 McMahon, Mike
6.173 Glenn, Jason

Agreed. Just pointing out that 5 years later a good amount of these guys are still NFL employed.
I still remember looking at his 2003 draft at the time and thinking, "Damn that was a good draft."
In 2003 Charles Rogers, Boss Bailey and Cory Redding with our top three picks. At the time I was really excited and i'm pretty sure a lot of people here were too (if they give you an honest answer). All three guys built for speed at their position. Then we had huge injury problems with the first two and then tons of personal issues with Rogers.
