If we trade one of our top 3 prospects for Matt ******* Garza, I might stab whoever is nearest to me. And I hope I'm right next to Hendry when he announces, if that's that case.

Vitters is a pile of ****, they should trade him before his value bottoms out.

Hopefully the Angels finally do something right this off season and block the Yankees from Greinke too :)

I read a rumor that the Angels might offer Lee 8 years. Has anyone else seen anything like that?

As long as Lee doesn't go to the Yankees, I don't care where he goes.

I do. I hope Lee resigns with the Rangers and then the Angels trade for Grienke so the Yankees get absolutely nothing pitching wise. The league should actually conspire to do that haha.

I know he said he wasn't going, but if for some reason the Yankees don't get Lee, wouldn't it make sense for C.C. Sabathia to opt out of his contract after this year? I mean, he could pretty much name his price.

You really think a team would pay him more than $23 million a year?

No but they might be willing to tack on another year at the same amount.
If the Yanks are on the way down, he might want to go elsewhere.
Doesn't seem likely, but it does seem possible. That out clause is in there for a reason.

In this day and age the Yanks will be competitive every year so they're not going down anytime soon. The big thing that is really going to hurt them down the road is when Mariano finally retires though.

I think that if the Yankees miss out on Cliff Lee and C.C. threatens to bolt after next year, then they will give him more than a 4-year, $92 million deal (which is what would be remaining on his contract).

The Rangers have started to go aggresively after Beltre so many people think that's because Lee and and the Yanks are close to a deal.

Lee is supposedly going to sign with somebody today, according to the Dallas Morning News.

I really would like that signing. I don't care what the money is, doesn't really matter as long as it's one year. Batting ninth in a lineup like the Yankees could let him rebound to some of his previous years. Allows us not to rush Montero or Romine as well.

Don't see why Martin would pick the Yankees over the Red Sox if the dollar figures were equal. We're capable of giving him more AB's and hitting further up in the lineup. We'll see with that one. I would be pretty disappointed if that were true.

How are you capable of giving him more ABs? Maybe a few more by hitting 7 or 8 over 9 but thats it.

Jason Varitek sucks. And I thought that Jesus was the starter going into the season (or at least until he totally bombs as a defender)?

We don't have a catching prospect coming down the pipe that he has to worry about and we're starting Salty and Varitek going into the year. He would hit higher in the order, potentially as high as 6th. Wouldn't be insurgence for a guy in case he bombs, might have a future here if he plays well.

I guess because he doesn't have to split time with Jorge only Varitek and Salty both of who aren't very good.
