Yup, I think he would've been a tight end for us.

SEC: no suspension for Falrley spearing Murray
I didn't see it until ESPN played it yesterday & Herbstriet condemned it in his editorial comment, Auburn D-lineman Nick Fairley deliberately spearing UGA QB Aaron Murray after the pass was released, video shows he lowered his head. Murray was injured on the play, & Auburn was called for a PF penalty.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmMMx1XPa6k
And Wednesday the SEC refused to suspend Fairley, who's a Naguski Award finalist. Stay classy, Auburn.....

http://slumz.boxden.com/f16/nick-fai...nsion-1448777/
Many thnk this sets a dangerous precedent for player safety:
http://sportsbybrooks.com/sec-danger...punished-29239
This should come as no surprise to anyone who's followed the SEC for awhile, they obviously play favorites. Such as with then no. 1-ranked Florida last yr. with the Spikes blatant eye-gouging incident vs UGA . Dont'a Hightower's ACL was taken out by a cheap shot at Arkansas, etc.
IMO the NCAA should intercede in incidents like this were player safety is involved b/c the SEC officials seem to be in the business of showcasing winners & not punishing their obvious offenders.

Yeah Jones is a freak athlete and Grimes is a guy we are very high on too. They better get their **** together because we are going to have a lot of fresh faces that will be asked to do a lot next season, much like this year. Jones is an incredibly talented athlete for a DE, he has a bright future if he gets his head on straight.

UGA is about to annouce they will open with Boise St at the Ga dome to start next year. This is a bad move as now on top of the SEC schedule we will play Boise St, Georgia Tech and Louisville.

Robbie Caldwell is stepping down as Vandy's coach. Apparently Vandy is serious about hiring a pretty good candidate this time, but we'll see.

And Vandy has apparently already reached out to Guz Malzahn. If I was him, I'd just wait. He can probably get a better offer. No offense to Vandy fans.

Weirdest, most ironic SEC season in recent memory. Sadly, balance of power parity & player payoffs, allegedly, ruled the yr.
Auburn is the only undefeated team & they're tainted. Everybody else knocked each other off at least twice, with LSU getting its 2nd loss from Arkansas Saturday.
If Auburn wins the next 2 games, what are the chances they will be undefeated for the 2nd time in < 7 yrs. & still not win a (an official) NC? It might be official for awhile but the NCAA will more likely take it away than let it stand.
Still so pissed about the 24-point lead blown by Bama. That game was orchestrated for high drama by the officials, those 2 measurements in 2 plays for the 1st downs in the last 2 mins were the giveaway, they were milking to the max. Only 2 major penalties on Auburn all day, both for player behavior instead of mistakes. And 6 on Bama of which 3 were illegal substitution (instead of delay) whaaaat? The CBS stills showing player counts confused more than helped. What I do know is that Bama gave it away & I screamed myself hoarse over it.
The SEC won't punish Fairley or Newton, leaving that to the NCAA who may not do it for months, but they sure seem to want another renewal of the gazillions of $ CBS contract, just so we can be treated to more of Danielson & Verne Lundquist /insert intense sarcasm here/, & what a joy that will be. Can't they give the broadcast contract to Fox or anyone but CBS?

Bobby Petrino reportedly signs a contract extension.
Source: Bobby Petrino to re-up. - ESPN
He can probably thank Foley for that.

LSU has informed the NCAA and SEC of its decision to self-impose restrictions on its football program, as a result of an internal investigation that revealed violations of NCAA rules as announced earlier this year.
"LSU took quick and thorough action when we discovered these violations and we are hopeful the NCAA will ultimately agree with our assessment of this case," said LSU Chancellor Michael Martin. "The reports to the NCAA and SEC and our decision to self-impose penalties are the culmination of many months of arduous work by our compliance office and I am confident their thorough examination of this case has produced appropriate sanctions for the football program."
LSU has reported the violations to the NCAA and SEC in two reports. The first report was delivered to the NCAA and SEC in March 2010, and focused on recruiting activities involving one assistant coach and one student-athlete. Before that report was submitted, the two involved individuals both left the University, and the student-athlete never participated in a game for the Tiger football team.

[The coaches, that is.]

No, that was Larry Porter, LSU's former RB coach. LSU’s internal investigation centered on former wide receivers coach D.J. McCarthy — who resigned in December — and defensive lineman Akiem Hicks, a junior college transfer from California who did not play this year during his only season on the team. Hicks left LSU after the season because his scholarship was not renewed.
