I was there...it was painful. Awful transition defense, the absolute killer was giving up offensive rebounds and rebounding in general...37-23. Any time they had a chance to make a good run they'd force a missed shot...and then St. Johns would get the rebound and score. Tough to watch the seniors go out that way. Hardy's 34 was quiet because he did so much from the stripe late in the game.
Fish is what he is, he's a really talented guard but he's best served as an energy guy off the bench like he was for the most part during our Final Four run. The interior D of St. Johns made a huge difference as well as he and Wayns couldn't really get anything going driving (that's where he excels) and we don't run in transition anymore. But I'd still contend that he should be a 6th man and he just hasn't fit in as a point guard.
The other thing is, for whatever reason we're running a slowdown offense and that really doesn't work well with the team that we've got. Pena has a decent midrange jumper, Cheek and Bell are inconsistent shooting it off the bench, Armwood's offense consists of dunks and layups, Fisher is an inconsistent shooter, Wayns really doesn't shoot well, and Stokes is a great shooter. But when your lineup for the most part consists of one awesome shooter, a PG who shoots inconsistently, a PG who can't shoot, and two interior players but a bunch of good athletes you want to get up and down the floor. Unfortunately they don't do that for whatever reason, and it leads to bad offense (though transition D and rebounding were at least as much to blame if not more).

Buffs are turning it on at the right time, that is for sure. Three top 25 wins don't hurt, either.

Down goes Duke. Whole bunch of parity in college basketball this season. The tourney could be won by just about anyone this year.

i think if we'd not ****** ourselves vs. a&m at home, we'd be sitting pretty. now i have to hope we can not choke against isu and nebraska. which is sad, considering we can play poorly enough to lose to both by 40+.

Who is the team that you guys think will win it in the end?.. pretty hard to determine.
Maryland game tonight at 730! At first I thought it was at UMD but we got it at home this time, they always give us trouble and the main reason is Gary Williams. He is one of the more underrated coaches/recruiters out there and not saying the team is bad but he finds guys that all can run his offense and play tough defense.
Luckily we are playing at home.
Edit- Michigan State. Reaally? Get your **** together.

#1 Ohio State is playing at 9pm tomorrow at Penn State. It's PSU's senior night, which has 4 seniors on the starting line up... including Talor Battle. The place is sold out already AND I have my lucky socks for tomorrow.
Yes, these socks are lucky. I wore them to the MSU, Illinois, Wisky, and Minnesota game. I lost them for the Michigan game.

20.2 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.5 apg on 57.9% shooting over his last six games.
And lol at Joe Lunardi finally putting Michigan in the tournament just a week after basically saying they had no chance.

Gary Williams is a great coach who finds small recruits to play his system I don't think he's a great recruiter though. PG county MD, is the hotbed of NBA players, KD, Beasley, Jeff Green, Roy Hibbert, Ty Lawson, Nolan Smith, Sam Young, Austin Freeman, Chris Wright, the list goes on and on. Yet being the only major athletic school in the state he is never able to land these top recruits from PG county or Baltimore. Maryland always ends up having 6'6 guys playing PF and C and that is due to average recruiting. I think he's one of the best coaches in the nation but his recruiting is mediocre for such a big program in the ACC. Maryland is a fine academic institution, there is no reason why he shouldn't be able to keep at least a few of these guys.

I think it's more intentional as your first sentence indicates. Coach Williams wants to get guys who are going to buy into his system and develop some and those players tend to be lower ranked recruits. I'm sure if he wanted to get more highly ranked players he'd stumble into a couple with the athletics and academics at Maryland too, and if he found the right guy to buy in he'd have him come to play there. He does alright, but they definitely could do better.

OSU student section will be waving these for the UW game this weekend.
I still have a sinking feeling that the Badgers are going to beat #1 OSU for the third time this year.

I wish we had a home court adv like yours, but still it should be a good game.. I just hate our youth sometimes but we have been on fire, just need a whole team effort.
