Can anyone imagine how amazing it'd be if we got Sidney Rice? He's only 24 and when Roddy starts to lose something, we've got an outstanding receiver still in his prime. That'd certainly be adding some explosiveness. He's going to get big cash though. I'd give it to him. He's a difference maker.

Checked the Vikings site and they've tendered 7 of their players including Rice and Edwards.

After a weak showing in the combine, I am all for Titus Young at 27 now. He is the receiver we need.

We resigned Will Svitek today. He's definitely suitable to start at RT if we don't bring Clabo back.
Probably what's going to happen. He'll battle with Reynolds.

It should cause his stock to ease up a little. He was all the talk, deservedly so, after the senior bowl and seemed like a top 20 pick. Now with other receivers doing well and his 40 not so hot, maybe teams can pass him up. He has the game tape that shows his explosiveness and teams would be stupid to knock on him for a not-great combine. I trust our FO to pick him if he is there at 27. Maybe even a trade up 3-4 spots if he drops.

Maybe teams would pass him twice and we get him with our second round pick :O
I never saw him as top 20 though. Pre-Combine he was a fringe first round pick at best imo.

Yeah, I think the hype got him to possibly being picked by us instead of lasting until round two. Now that he clocked slow, that's got to be dipping.

That might depend on his Pro Day. If he runs anything close to what people expect of him he might be right back up there.

No one expects him to run fast at his pro day as no one expected him to run fast at the combine. He'll might get into the late 4.4 range, but it won't matter because everyone knows he's probably the most elusive player coming out and still a major playmaker.

There was actually a lot of talk of him running 4.35 going into the combine...

I didn't hear that. I thought he was Desean Jackson without the straight line speed.

Titus said he'd get into the late 4.2s but most people figured he'd run around 4.35. Titus was supposed to be DeSean Jackson. I think Jackson has more pull away speed ( how many people can really stack up with him there?), but I was pretty confident in Titus getting into the 4.3s.

What's the difference between Titus Young and Harry Douglas?

Titus Young accelerates from the start enabling him to make quick cuts and runs good routes however he doesn't have pull away speed like a D Jackson. It's ok because YAC is the most important thing especially for us. I don't think Young will be a no2 receiver at least starting out. I think he shares time with Douglas or Jenkins but won't start.
I used to think Young was strictly a slot receiver but if D Jackson can be a no1 why not Young as a no2? The thing is is Young really that much better than a Edmond Gates,Cecil Shorts, or Jernigan?
I think young runs better routes than Douglas and a better YAC besides the kickoff retunr stuff.

What are the similarities?
Douglas was a different prospect coming out, and is even more different after the injury.
FWIW I wouldn't touch Young until the middle of round 2.

I'd say HD is more akin to your Wes Welker type of player. Titus Young is more similar to a DeSean Jackson style.

Well they both have the exact same size. Both ran a 4.5 at the combine and are more quick than fast. And both have a tendency of dropping balls now and then.

I'd be shocked if Titus doesn't put up a real nice time at his Pro Day. He plays faster than HD and is much more of a deep threat.
