Asking for clarification on something is trolling? Wow. There are apparently quite a few trolls, then.

I may see highlights of other schools but I'm ACC/SEC biased.

QB Gray Crow commits to UM. Fairly average stats this past season but led his team to a 12-1 record and has pretty good tools at 6-3 220 with a solid arm. 5th commit for the 2012 class so far (all of which look like 4* kids)

Is he the real deal? His list of schools is really impressive for a junior. Sorry, I don't know a thing about him.

Jordan Futch making his third and (hopefully) final position switch. If all goes well, looks like he's moving to ILB.

What ever happened to Ian Symonette? Seems odd that someone that big, with a pulse, isn't even on anyone's radar.

I can't even remember him ever getting on the field at Miami. The notion was that he was extremely lazy and could not pick up a sniff of the playbook. He looked like a giant during warmups, though. Gave a guy a free ride to college to look big on the sidelines.

Hey guys, new member and just kinda looking around the forum and noticed this thread. It only makes sense for my first post to be in it. I've been a 'Cane fan since birth and proud of it. Ready for the Golden Era to start off right and it will soon be back to the days where it's All About Da U!

Welcome. :)
DE Trent Taylor committed to UM yesterday. Legit 6-3 250. 96 tackles with 15 sacks as a junior. Legit 4* guy. 2012 class looks like it could be special.

Agreed. Could look similar to Randy's first full class with all the MNW kids.
And welcome CaneGang, good to know we've got another Cane on board.

Thanks man.
I don't like predicting recruiting classes this early cause it's practically a waste of time, but with the chances we have at players like Goldman and Diggs, not to mention the potential we already have picked up in the defensive backfield, the team could see a potential Top 5-10 class in 2012.

Who is the Fastest Cane? I know 40 times really don't measure football speed but who is the fastest Cane, by 40 speed & football speed?
*If you know the BEST projected 40 times could you please list for the following
Santana Moss-
Ed Reed-
Phillip Buchanon-
Andre Johnson-
Willis McGahee-?
Roscoe Parrish-
Kelly Jennings-
Marcus Maxey-
Devin Hester-
Sinorice Moss-
Kenny Phillips-
Glenn Sharpe-
Bruce Johnson-
Sam Shields-
Brandon Harris-
DeMarcus Van Dyke-4.28
Lamar Miller-
Travis Benjamin-
I believe DHest is the fastest cane but 40 wise I'm going with Sam Shields

Not gonna go through the whole list, but Travis Benjamin recently broke Santana Moss' school record for 60m in track with a 6.70. Lamar Miller has run a 6.78, fastest DVD ever ran was a 6.81. For football speed, Hester>Santana>Benjamin>Roscoe>Buchanon>everyone else. Lamar, AJ and McGahee are all close.

What does a Benjamin 6.70 60 meter dash translate to in the 40?

Travis will probably run in the 4.4's. He's like Hester, who didn't run the blazing 4.2 we expected, but no one will catch him in the open field. No one. They have about the fastest football speed there is.

*If you know the BEST projected 40 times could you please list for the following
Santana Moss- High 4.3's/Low 4.3 FB speed
Ed Reed- Low 4.5's/About the same in FB speed, but very elusive
Phillip Buchanon- High 4.3's/4.4 FB speed
Andre Johnson- Mid 4.3's/Dude is freaky and one of the fastest in the league when completely healthy.
Willis McGahee-? Mid 4.4's/About the same football speed
Roscoe Parrish- Mid 4.4's/Low 4.3 Game speed, extremely fast and elusive
Kelly Jennings- Mid 4.4's/4.5 game speed, doesn't play as fast
Marcus Maxey-4.5's/Probably didnt play this fast either.
Devin Hester-Mid 4.4's/Probably don't need an explanation on game speed
Sinorice Moss-Low 4.4's/Plays a little slower at times, but still fast
Kenny Phillips-High 4.5's/Low 4.6's/Plays about the same/Never really a burner
Glenn Sharpe- About the same as Maxey.
Bruce Johnson-High 4.3's/Low 4.4's/Plays closer to 4.5
Sam Shields-Mid 4.3's/Plays about as fast, maybe a step slower at times
Brandon Harris- Low 4.4's/Plays about the same
DeMarcus Van Dyke-4.28/Doesn't play this fast, that's his problem/Probably a high 4.5 game speed.
Lamar Miller- High 4.3's/Low 4.4's/Plays in the 4.4's right now, has that extra great though
Travis Benjamin-Same as miller and hester/About as fast game speed as there is, quick and agile as well.
I believe DHest is the fastest cane but 40 wise I'm going with Sam Shields
|
Bolded are the times I would project for these players in their prime. Only an educated guess here. You can probably look up the official combine times for each of them though. Just too lazy to do that right now.
DVD is probably the fastest timed Cane, but Andre, TB and Hester play the fastest IMO. Santana is up there as well.
