Meh. For the most part, the teams that were "supposed" to win, if you can rightfully say that in the NCAA tournament, have won. I mean, when you look at the sweet sixteen, the highest seeded team to make it there was UNLV, #7. The highest seeded team to make it to the elite eight, was oregon, #3. And of course, the final four is yielding 2 number one's, and two two's.
I don't know. Maybe after last year, this one just seems a little dull to me.

Like I said not a ton of upsets. Upsets do not determine if it is good or not. I've enjoyed this years a lot more than last year. I'd take these good close games over upsets anyday.

All these games have been so competitive and it's been so great. I would prefer these games compared to a Cinderella story

this tourney has been great. there have been multiple upsets, but not as many as last year, i also liked that there were so many comebacks and tight games. I mention comebacks mainly because that is how my boys made the final four.

In most of these cases the AD will let the player out of the LOI for public relations purposes, plus you don't want someone playing for you that doesn't want to be there.

If you're a big time program, why would you waste a scholarship on a player who doesn't want to be there? The guy isn't going to want to play, isn't going to give effort, and is going to transfer after a year. Don't pass up a guy who will just waste a year in your program, when you can release him, spin it as him being a spoiled brat, and leave yourself open to late transfers or late signees.

Yeah, that really hurts Iowa's national title aspirations.

Probably doesn't hurt their chances any more than Alford's in-game coaching and player prep... If he leaves, they still gain if they hire the right coach.

Rick Majerus WAS a very good coach.
Then again Joe Gibbs WAS a very good coach too.
There are certainly worse hires they could make, but after turning down the USC job I don't see how Iowa would be more appealing.

Majerus was a pretty decent coach that knew how to recruit to what he wanted to run. He was able to bring in Keith VanHorn and make him a star. He screws up the word "O"ffense but other than that he knows his stuff

Haha! :D
Iowa is going to be TERRIBLE next season. Losing your two best players and not bringing in much, ouch.

According to ESPNEWS, Billy Donovan will be offered the Kentucky job. This would be an amazing pick-up for the school.

Well, we knew it would be offered. It's just a matter of if he'll accept it or not.
There is a LARGE press conference scheduled for next Wednesday at our new practice gym, presumably to announce the new coach. Who it is... Hopefully Donovan, if not then Gillespie or Jay Wright.
I've heard so many dumb rumors saying he's coming. None of which are worth mentioning really, we'll just have to wait and see. I wouldn't doubt the contract heading towards 4 million if needed.
