I feel sorta bad because now those Rangers fans will look at Giants fans the way we looked at Angels fans for the last 7 years........okay not that bad but feel for them.

Jason Schmidt comes to mind. But agree would never have wanted SF to give Uribe a deal that long. Just blows having to see him in a Dodgers uniform next season.

The Rockies just locked up Tulo through 2020 as well. These moves are responses to the Giants winning it all, as teams in the division want to challenge them for sure.

As expected after a WS win, the Giants exercised 2012 options on Boche and Sabean:

What is everyone's feelings heading into the 2011 now that the celebrating is over? Here some random thoughts:
-Panda looks to be in damn good shape and very cool to see him working out with Barry.
-Do not like the Tejada signing and worried about the lack of depth behind him if/when he gets hurt. Hoping Crawford makes some noise this spring training.
-How does the rotation fall after Timmy? Would love to see Bumgarner take the regins as the #2 starter and to be that lefty that splits up Timmy/Cainer. Do wonder if it will be asking a lot to take on that many innings early into his career.
-Interesting to see how they handle Belt this spring. Do they "Posey" him and it is either win a starting job or be sent to AAA or if they would carry him on the bench.
-Anyone else still go on youtube occasional and watch all the playoff/World Series stuff? I still get chills.

My celebration of the Giants has not ended. I was razzing my Dodgers fan friend last night.
With the black and yellow song getting a lot of play recently, I went back to the black and orange version.
The rotation will again be the strength of the '11 team. I'm hoping that keeping a majority of the team in place will allow the chemistry a chance to continue to build in the regular season. With losing Uribe, other guys will have to step up and create some runs. Sabean will find another bat or two for the home stretch if they get off to the start they need,
I bought the World Champs DVD. A must have to remember details of their run.

The Giants will actually be fun to watch for the first time in years!
I'll be at opening day vs the Dodgers on March 31st :).

^uhh they've been pretty damn fun to watch the last two years, no??
Really hope Pablo can get on track this year. Hopefully Belt is up after his Super 2 status is over. Man what a 3-4-5 that would be with Posey. I think a big key to the season will be Torres. We need him to hold down the leadoff spot.

Fired up to see Belt at some point this year. That would be an exciting batting order to have and how young all 3 are Panda (24), Posey (23), and Belt (22).
This is hanging at the enterence to the club house in Scottsdale. Chills.

I think they have a great chance of repeating this year. It's a long season and I'm looking forward to it. Yeah Opening Day!

I'm so fired up about Belt being on the opening day roster. Henry Schulman said this should be the lineup for tonight:
Torres, Sanchez, Huff, Posey, Burrell, Tejada, Belt, Panda, Timmy.
I would rather flip flop Tejada and Panda. Reward him for having a good spring.
GO GIANTS!!!!!!! BEAT LA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree about the lineup. They're making Panda earn it though after last season. He's proven he's changed for the better so far but needs to carry it through the season when it counts!

Tough loss, Timmy threw a solid game.
I'm not to worried about this game, hopefully we'll get over the hangover soon, step it up and win the series.

Yeah it was nice to see Timmy get stronger as the game went along. He was rolling by the time he was pulled. Much better then last season's start vs MIL.
I'm trying my best to put up with Tejada but I don't think I have even entered a honeymoon faze with him.
Like this stat from John Shea's twitter:
Quote:
|
#SFGiants Stat o' the night: Dodgers threw 135 pitches, 29 to Belt. That's 21 percent to one guy. Great plate discipline by the kid.

Just cause they're the Champs does not mean that it's going to be any easier this year, nor does it mean that the torture games will stop. 161 more until the playoffs. :)
Their age showed a little last night, with Huff and Burrell looking a little shaky in the field, Tejada committing an error. Also, youth and inexperience allowed the Posey hiccup to Sandoval happen when Pablo should have never called for the ball and Buster shouldn't have chucked it so quickly. That was out of his character and I'm sure he learned a lot on that play.

Nice bounce back win yesterday for the G-Men with a thorough domination of the Dodgers, coming up with timely hit after timely hit and Cain looking to be in postseason form.

Amazing that Bochy bats Tejada leadoff, has Rowand in the lineup, and the Giants go out and post ten runs. Before the game (on my twitter account) I dubbed it the "Anti-Christ" lineup and they go out and do that. Be nice to split the series heading into SD. Happy Zito day?

Another bad start from the Mad Bomber:
2.2 IP 4 HA 3 ER 2 BB 2 K
His 3 starts before:
14.2 IP, 12 ER, 8 BB, 7 K, 7.39 ERA
Zero quality starts this year. With Zito's injury the back end of the rotation is starting to become a giant question mark. Vogelsong looked good tonight so we will see how he fares with against Pitt. But going to need some QS or the bullpen is going to wear down quick.
