The Eagles don't give up much considering their dline rotation and get what could be a steal if Spikes could recover fully. If not, big deal, they didn't give up much for him. Good move.

Getting rid of him frees up the starting job at DT so Bunkley can step in, so honestly I am glad Walkers gone, we got someone for it who probably isn't a bigger gamble than most of the second day draft picks.

And we got rid of 2 guy's that we might have cut.

bills red, basically you traded 2 cuttable players (1 with decent value) to the Eagles for an aging DT with a laziness problem who was likely to be cut and a conditional 7th rounder next year. Even with the salary cap boost, it seems like the Bills are a little behind on this deal.

I want to see how many Eagles fans come and start bragging about it and saying he is a pro-bowler and makes them so much better.

I've learned to ignore him, unless he says something completely idiotic, which is basically everything he posts, so in actuality, it is impossible to ignore TNewFan41.

Levy isn't afraid to pull the trigger on a deal, he isn't afraid to do deals that help both teams, he isn't afraid of criticism and second guessing, and he isn't afraid of evaluating talent differently than everyone else. To me, that is the sign of a great GM. Every move might not pan out, but I feel that the franchise is in the best shape it has been in in 8 to 10 years.

"I post over at a gaming forum called Maddenplanet.com
Anyway there is an Eagles fan that I respect and have known for a long time. He really thinks Walker is going to go nuts in our style of defense. He said that he goes balls to the wall when he is in there. Says that he has very powerful hands and upper body strenght so don't be down that he is under the 300lb mark. He can hold his own. Thats why he was only showing up for half a game because the Eagles don't rotate in and out and Walker was out there for the whole game almost.
But he said with our rotational system Walker should be a stud.
The interesting thing is that he said he is VERY SMART. Could be why he caught Marvs attention. My buddy says that Walker belongs to an Engineering Firm. I thought that was kind of cool.
So it sounds like not only does he give full effort all the time, he is also smart and and a powerful player that uses his hands well."

You do realize spikes was on the bench on 3rd downs last year, right? He was a huge liability this past season, not an asset.

Here is a direct quote from myself in the Eagles team forum while we still had Walker after getting Montae Reagor:
"This probably does mean we are getting rid of Walker. Good riddance he is awful vs. the run. Montae Reagor is a good pass rusher and will be a good rotational player for us. I seriously doubt that we get rid of Rayburn. If we can use him effectively like we did in 2004, he is a valuable piece of our D Line. He has the best bull-rush as well. We didn't pick up Reagor to replace a strong DT who is pretty good against the run with another situational pass rusher."
I'm not the kind to talk up our players while they are on our team and then bash them when they're gone. If anything I have spoken positively about Walker in this thread.

Nate top 3 yes
TKO top 3 no
LFB top 3 maybe
Willis top 3 no
Crowell better than TKO at LB and right there with LFB.
Willis avg. 3.8 a carry.
Top 3 Bills players were Nate, Evans, Peters. So we got rid of one in my mind.

Not happy about this one bit. Spikes is a terrific player even at this age. If he stays healthy, the Eagles will remain one of the tougher teams to beat in the league... and especially tough for the Cowboys. ...and they are excellent drafters. :(

Moorman, Evans, and Peters are still here...
(I'll give you Clements. Either of the LB are close, but Crowell surpassed both)

You insane? Their top 3 players last year were Schobel, Clements, and Evans, only one of them was lost. They let go of one big mouth, two over-rated liabilities, and one really good corner.

Obviously you didn't see spikes get run over by travis henry half a dozen times in one game. Or maybe you didn't see him get burnt on passing plays to the point he was completely taken out of 3rd down equations.
