Looks like the Ravens are going to try and grab someone big.

#Ravens slashing an awful lot of vets: Mason + McGahee + Heap + Gregg = $18.6 million in salary.

Yea, the two guys in house: Ngata and Yanda
Plus, Ray Rice, Flacco, Grubbs, among others will be coming due

I think quietly they may be in the market for someone like Sidney Rice. I doubt they go after Asomugha but clearing all this cap space would definitely let them enter the race

Forgot all about Rice, he'd make a nice fit in San Diego.

We already have Ngata actually, we placed the franchise tender on him and I'm fairly certain it's still in effect. In fact I'd be surprised if we didn't negotiate a long-term deal with him with would also free up more cap room this year.
Rice is an interesting name to bring up, and I think he'd fit in well with our receivers. He's certainly the type of receiver we're lacking. I don't think we're in play for Nnamdi.

Its really much more of a rookie cap once you get down to brass tacks. To put it simply, expect everyone in the top 10 to get half what their equivalent picks last year got. It'll impact the cap, but not as much as it did.

I'm glad they reduced rookie salaries. Allows teams to give more to deserving vets and teams will not lose as much on high 1st round busts.

Good job by Baltimore on those cuts. It's going to be tough for fans to part ways with someone like Todd Heap or Derrick Mason, but I don't think these moves really weaken their team.

Kelly Gregg is expected to join the mason and todd "scrap heap" on the street.
Also the OP has been updated, more updates to come when I get more work done so I can **** around some more. Or when my boss leaves early.

So basically, can any knowledgable colts/chargers fans give me the low-down on Weddle or Bullitt? Are they any good or are you happy to see them (maybe) leave?

Bullitt is a quality backup, but that's it. Paying him starter money would be foolish, and if the Vikings are willing to do that, they can have him.

Really? You'd think at his age, he'd want to go to a championship contender.

Heap always looks pretty good to me. I don't get why so many people think he's a bad player.

Don't forget Jonathan Joseph might be available as well. Maybe a good value since Aso will cost more. Id prefer Aso though.

It's lack of health, not lack of talent.

Not sure what the one year franchise figure is for DTs, but if Ngata signs long term this week the Ravens would get more saving as the first year figure is definitely less in most instance than a franchise figure.

His franchise tag is worth about $12 mil.

I would almost assume a CB, if they can't get Namdi they move on to the next best corner in FA, rinse and repeat if that doesn't work out
