We need a FB. Graham is a running back, and Lorig is a defensive lineman. I want that Taylor kid we got from Clemson last season to get a fair shot at the job. Or we can just sign Leron McClain (Pipe Dream) from the Ravens

Leonard Weaver? I think the team is pretty high on Lorig so I'm not sure we make a move.

Unbiased Titans fan here. Just stopping in to say I'll be shocked if the Bucs don't make the playoffs.

Some young DE's I still wish we would bring into camp:
Manny Lawson, 27
Jamaal Anderson, 25
Derrick Harvey, 24
Tim Crowder, 26
Steven Friday, 23
Young DT:
Marcus Thomas, 25
Young OT:
Ryan Harris, 26
Talent wise I think they are better than the guys we have projected as 2nd teamers, IMO.
Woods, Trueblood, Bennett, Magee, and Kyle Moore.

Tim Crowder better come back!!! He's a good rotational/back-up. We should release Kyle Moore, and make Michael Bennett & Tom Crowder the two back-ups.

-Dez Briscoe is playing awesome rightn ow. Making catch after catch. This guy's talent level is beast like. He might be a very underrated target for Free and the bucs this year in the slot.
- Free is looking AWESOME out there! Morris said he's sharp and very accurate throwing lasers out there. One report said he's light years ahead of where he was at last year. (MVP candidate?)
- DBs are struggling a bit. Biggers and Lewis are looking very good. Gaitor is a little behind. Cody Grimm is still being hindered by that leg injury and looks a bit slow out there. No news on Talib.
- I still want to see some insight on SS Larry Assante. He played very well when he got the chance.
- Foster and McKenzie MLB battle is under way and both seem to be very good. I'll be satisfied with either, from all the positive reports I'm hearing on both players.
- Bowers looks really explosive. (Steal of the draft)
- I really want to see the Bucs bring in a vet. RB to split with Blount. I think relJying on Lumpkin, Bradford and Graham is risky. Bring back Caddalac or sign a guy like Snelling would be a better option.

I like Lawson and think if he returned to DE where he belongs, he could better use his speed as a pass rusher.
Of course, Anderson and Harvey were signed...
Friday signed with the Texans, presumably as an OLB.
I've been right on in my free agency re-signing predictions (except for Trueblood), re-signing Black, Joseph, Hayward... and my next prediction is Crowder. I don't have us re-signing Williams.
Marcus Thomas is gone too.
I actually think we are loaded with good young depth on the Oline. This is a group I am excited about.

Out of the players listed above as our 2nd teamers, I think most have good talent. Magee (3rd rounder), Moore (4th rounder), Woods (3rd rounder) and Bennett (undrafted due to concerns over dedication, not ability) all have excellent talent. Magee is a big guy that runs very well. He could be the DE/DT swing guy (Tyoka Jackson, Jovan Haye, Ellis Wyms( that we've been missing for a while. Moore has talent but just hasn't been right physically (too fat, too hurt) to make an impact. He's got a great frame and pretty good athletic ability. Woods is very stout at the point of attack and good initial quickness. I'm not a big fan of his though, as I feel that down the road he is more of a 3-4 NT-type. Bennett has good first step quickness and athleticism. His long speed is lacking, but he can run the arc and plays with good pad level. I like these guys... I'd like other guys more than the 3rd teamers we have, though. I think Doug Worthington is worthless. Brandon Gilbeaux is very limited by a maxed out frame and short arms. George Johnson is a very good athlete and intrigues me, but has never really produced even in college

Some camp notes I think some buc fans will like to hear:
- When Myron Lewis has been lined up against Mike Williams, Lewis has done an excellent job in coverage. I think he can be a solid starter and line up on #2 WRs in Nickel packages this year with barber in the slot on 3rd downs.
- Clayborn, Bowers, and yes Roy Miller are looking fantastic so far. Miller seems to have picked up some pass rush moves and seems stronger. Clayborn and Penn are having some battles 1 on 1.
- Haven't heard much on McCoy, but the reports I am seeing are he's built strength in his legs and is quick off the snap. They haven't really reported anything because he hasn't had to go up against Davin. He's been wrecking Zuttah and Faine and the rest of the backups to the point unblockable, but we really will see his performance once Davin starts to practice.
- WR is our biggest strength. Williams/Briscoe/Benn will form a lethal trio for opposing defenses, and Freeman has been tearing it up. The defense however has caught up since the pads came on.

Interesting seeing Lumpkin as the backup RB. I liked him for Gruden's offense back in college but injuries derailed him quite a bit.
Nice to see the Elbert Mack era coming to a close.
I wanna see Webber and Black move up the depth chart.

Lumpkin looks pretty good in goal line situations in TC so far, but I still want Graham to be the second RB. Erik Lorig, or Rendrick Taylor better show something in pre-season, so Graham can be relieved of FB duties.

I'm especially happy to see Anthony Gaitor ahead of Elbert Mack. I think it's finally time we get rid of that guy. He's not very good.
Also, it will be interesting to see what happens at Safety. We have Jones, Grimm and Assante locks to make this team, as well as Lynch and Black probably fighting for a roster spot. The most interesting thing is we have T-Jack coming back Sept. 23, so there will be decisions to be made.
Also, what is the size of the rosters, 53 or 55 this year now under the new cba?

Black isn't getting cut. He's improved every day and this staff believes in their draft picks. He's been compared to Ronde as a player and Ronde was almost cut his rookie year. The staff isn't even gonna consider doing that to Black. Corey Lynchs are a dime a dozen...Ahmad Black is a special player.

Also like that Mack is behind Gaitor.
Fairly certain that the number is 54 due to the new CBA.

It's pathetic that Mack is behind a late 7th round pick many thought wouldn't even be drafted.

No, final rosters are still 53, the big difference is that there is no 3rd QB designation and that there are now 46 active players on game day instead of 45.
