Oh I've watched you all year. And that's where I'm getting my opinions of your defense from.

Jeff Green didn't assert himself at all in this game. Credit to Hunter for nice defense but Green didn't hardly move at all on offense. Great players at least force something in a game, Green didn't even do that.

Most of GT turnovers were from stupid mistakes( mostly terrible passes) on their part, not good OSU defense.

Green's not aggressive enough. Kind of like LeBron James. It's ok to be a pass first player, but like Jason Kidd, he's very aggressive while being that pass first guy. If Green's to be successful in the NBA, he'll have to get more passionate and aggressive. He has all the tools you look for in a SF, he just needs some coach to light a fire in him.

Exactly. Hibbert totally wiffed on a pass, that white guy for some reason didn't shoot it when the shot clock was running down, I believe Sapp dribbled the ball off his foot, and there were a couple other just really bad turnovers on GT's part.

Haha GS won't be too happy about this game. Big 12 Player of the Year didn't even show up.

Eh, Green disappeared. I don't think Ohio State took him away. There were plenty of times that Green could've attacked favorable matchups, but he didn't. I think it was more that Green just doesn't have that instinct to step it up and take it to another gear. He really needs to stay for another year to develop some more. But good game for Ohio State. It really wasn't a pretty game for either side, and overall, a poor basketball game, but Ohio State did the things they needed to win, as they have all tourny, against Xavier and Tennessee in particular.

What about the turnovers all season? I don't imagine every team just played sloppy against us. You don't have this kind of winning streak and make the championship with crappy defense, or even below average defense.

Ohio State will have to play much better than this if they expect to beat Florida or UCLA

Ohio State definitely played good defense today. SOme of the turnovers were definitely Georgetown's fault, heck, maybe most of them but I didn't keep count so eh. But defense is so much mroe than that, and Ohio State was well-positioned, adjusted to Georgetown's rotations, and hustled and was aggressive.

Have to say, for a national semi-final game ... that one was bleh. Neither team played good team basketball consistently, in all honesty. Only one player was real good, and that was Conley Jr.

Georgetown had a good season. If Green and Hibbert comes back, along with their incoming freshmen class next year plus the development of Macklin and Summers, they could very well be back again next year.

Just wanna let you know Georgetown is not in the Big 12, anyways Green had the worst game of the year and really disappointed, he was horrible today and didn't do anything that he usually does, on the otherhand Hibbert vs. Oden I guess was a stalemate but Oden showed why he isn't this God Like prospect against a bigger man he was ineffective, he has lots of work to do.

I'd disagree. They could play how they did right now and beat UCLA. Florida... definitely not. But if Florida makes it on to National Championship, the only thing that could stop them from a repeat would be for Ohio State to get hot from beyond the arc for the majority of the game.

Oden does have alot of work to do, but know he knows how compares to other solid big man in the country

And if he wants to do that work at OSU for another year I'd take it ;)

But like toon said, defense in basketball isn't always as apparent of being good or bad IMO. If you can change shots, you can win without looking like an amazing defensive team.

But you do have a very explosive offense. I'm not saying they're crappy on defense, they're undisciplined. Their ability to get turnovers overshadows the fact that they get beat off the dribble a lot, they lose man markers, they go under screens, and they're slow on rotation. Which GT exploited early in the 2nd half.

If Thompson would've actually kept running the Princeton they had the Buckeyes on the ropes. I can't count how many times you guys got beat back door, probably 3 or 4 times and yet Thompson didn't keep up with it. He decided to try and play a post offense, which IMO was a huuuuugggeeee mistake. They had the guards and the frontline to push this game to a faster pace and to run a much better offense, yet they didn't.

This game was not played well at all IMO. If OSU wants to win on Monday, they'll need to play much better IMO. Very disappointed with how boring this game was to watch.

I think Jonathan Wallace with 2 more years can develop into a solid pro prospect, with Hibbert and Green gone next year I have seen the kid shoot he has JJ Redick type ability, next year size will be the problem with the front court will be a problem with Center being Pat Ewing, PF Macklin, and SF Summers. Guards will be stacked as hell, Wallace, Sapp, Rivers, Austin Freeman, Chris Wright.

I think most of his work has to do with conditioning. True, he didn't get any big blocks against Hibbert, but that was mostly due to great positioning of Hibbert as a result of that offense. Outside of that, Oden was getting rebounds over him and doing stuff against him on the offensive side. But Oden is more hybrid than the dominant, big-bodied low post presence people for some reason thought he'd be. Of course, it'd be a waste of his athleticism to be that anyway.

If Florida does in fact advance, it'll be interesting to see if Oden can do anything against Horford and Noah.

He couldn't last time, but luckily he can catch the ball with his right hand this game :P

IMO if Oden would've been able to stay on the floor (he got some cheap fouls), he would've done very good. He didn't get a chance to get into the flow of the game yet he still played very well IMO. Especially on the low block.

Not being on the floor was due to his inexperienced and unnecessary fouls so it is his fault he couldn't get in a rythm

That moving screen was a BS call. Which would have kept him on the floor. And I've already stated my opinion on his offensive foul.

I don't like Billy Packer, but I did agree with his comment late in the game basically about how these two kids (Oden moreso than Hibbert obviously) have been too overhyped. Still a lot of work to do for both of them. Oden gets by really on his size right now, and that works for the collegiate game. At the next level, he'll have to learn to position himself better, develop a more consistently varied offensive game, and be a more consistent defensive player.

I've seen a lot of people (not here, but in general) bash Hibbert, saying that he does well because of his size in the collegiate game. I think Hibbert is actually fairly well-developed and would be more ready to adjust to the pro game than Oden as of now. But both guys need to play smarter. Hibbert has good athleticism for his size, but needs to learn to move around smarter.

I'm not sure Hibbert and Green are certainties to leave. Both would probably be mid-firsts, with the chance of going top 10. But wait a year and both, if they continue to get better, could become top 5 picks. Of course, guaranteed money is guaraneteed money, and it'll be tough to pass up. They both are better off sticking around, though.
