Meh. Very vanilla on both sides of the ball. Erin Henderson looked outstanding, he was around the ball on almost every play. Everson Griffen and Christian Ballard showed some flashes. Ponder looked solid, had to improvise a lot because our depth at O-line is absolutely non existent but he handled it well. Chris Cook couldn't have played worse if he tried.

It's hard to judge the defense without K-Will, Winfield, Ced, and Allen but we need to tackle better and Allen and Cook got toasted all night.

Its kinda hard to judge either McNabb or Ponder tonight. The offense was so vanilla, but thats understandable. Ponder did have some nice throws. The guy looks the part at least.

I've been loving Jaymar since two training camps ago. I really think he would have made the team last year if not for his injury that cost him his season, which isn't saying much since we had to trade for Camarillo right before the season due to our lack of depth, which at the time made him our #3/4 WR.

I keep reading on other Vikings message boards pleas from fans to move Chris Cook to safety. This is hilarious to me as the guy cannot tackle for ****, he gets swallowed up by blockers and doesn't wrap up. Asher Allen sucks at pretty much everything. Ponder looked solid, his mobility is surprising and I liked his accuracy. The whole noodle arm thing can probably finally be put to rest, he doesn't have an arm like Mallett but it is far from weak. I really want to see him playing with and against 1st or 2nd stringers to see how he handles things.

At this point Cook offers nothing. Horrible in coverage, mental breakdowns, and incredibly soft in the run game. Hell, Marcus Sherels is better than him right now. At least he wants to tackle.

Brandon Burton showed some solid things last night too, it's clear he's not ready yet though.

I agree with most, Chris Cook is nothing special, just like most of us thought when they picked him so high.

Really disappointed about the development of our corners like Cook and Allen, they look pretty average with Griffin and Winfield not in there.

Burton should make the team, I always liked him on Utah.

Thought both Ponder and McNabb looked alright given who was out, OL did not look good at all either which didn't help either of them.

Defensively, Henderson was solid and I liked Evans, Ballard and Griffen's efforts on the DL. Our secondary is going to be one of the worst ever, which is just great when we play the Packers.

I'd still love to move Winfield to safety but we just have absolutely nothing at CB either outside of him and hopefully Griffin...

Going to be a very long season by the looks of it, based on what I saw of Detroit we should be strong favourites to finish last in the division.
