He isn't, but Thomas Jones apparently is!

Whatever...back to business.
This team needs to pick up at least two receivers and probably two CBs and a S before the first game of the season. Those are the definite weak areas on the team.
There are a few teams that have way more than they can carry at those positions, that the Chiefs should be keeping an eye on...

I would say they need a better #2 WR but Cassel only looks at Bowe anyways.

I don't disagree.
Jerheme Urban is well Jerheme Urban and I think Cassel is so used to not having a 3rd WR that he hasn't looked Steve Breaston's way yet.

I think Baldwin will make an impact this year, but until he does I expect Breaston to have some big numbers.

I'm not expecting much from Baldwin this year and it has nothing to do with the Jones/Baldwin stuff.
It really has nothing to do with him at all. I just think Todd is going to treat him like he treated Bowe his first year.
I think year one will be used to show Baldwin it's Todd's way or the highway.
I would love for Baldwin to just pick that up quick and Todd to throw him a bone but I just don't see it.

Not sure with Baldwin. He's going to be in the dog house for a bit this year. Even if they just stick him out there opposite Bowe and not run anything for him, he's an upgrade over what they had last year... But this team needs a 4th and 5th receiver (I sort of like Urban, but he should be beating someone out, not being a default).
I just feel like they haven't done enough to bring in competition at WR and in the secondary.

Bowe spent his time in the mutt house. It worked.

It sucks to lose Siler.. I really liked our LB group this year.
We apparently worked out Kelvin Hayden. He'd be a good signing. We need DB depth in the worst way. I'm really worried about our safety depth too.

That'd be a great pick up for CB help. They are only 3-deep.
Losing Siler sucks. He's a great utility player, special teams ace, and a solid backup LB. There shouldn't be a massive shortage of replacements once teams start cutting players, though. I'd like to see Studebaker get some looks at ILB, actually. With Houston and Sheff looking like studs and Gabe Miller coming along... His versatility will be extremely valuable this year.

I've been really impressed with Gabe Miller so far. A lot of us were kind of iffy on the pick when it happened, but he has really proven me wrong. He could be a very good player inside for us if given the opportunity.

53-Man Roster Projection
QB (3)
Cassel
Palko
Stanzi
RB (5)
Charles
Jones
McCluster
McClain
Cox
WR (6)
Bowe
Breaston
Baldwin
Urban
Tucker
Copper
TE (3)
Moeaki
Pope
Becht (or O'Connell)
OL (8)
Albert
Lilja
Wiegmann
Asamoah
Richardson
Hudson
Gaither
O'Callaghan
DL (7)
Dorsey
Gregg
Jackson
Powe
Bailey
Gilberry
Toribio
LB (8)
Hali
Johnson
Belcher
Houston
Studebaker
Sheffield
Miller
Williams
CB (6)
Flowers
Carr
Arenas
Brown
Daniels
De. Washington
S (4)
Berry
Lewis
McGraw
Piscitelli
ST (3)
Succup
Colquitt
Gafford
I had like 48 guys...maybe before I had to start just throwing guys on the roster. The Chiefs will benefit greatly from the Pats' defensive line cuts, but other than that, they need 2 better receivers and a CB that is definitively better than Daniels, Brown, and Washington... I threw Daniels and Washington on there because I figured they'd need the extra guys at the position in hopes of having competition breed better players. I pretty much did the same thing with WR with Urban, Tucker, and Copper... Though I think Tucker has some potential and would like to see him stick around.

Few things:
I think if Gaither is healthy that O'Call is expendable. I think we need a swing guard who is capable of playing both positions and I'm not sure Hudson is there.. yet.
I'd be surprised if Cox made the team over Bannon. I've seen Bannon up close a few times and the dude is a beast. Personally, I'd prefer to keep Cox on the roster, I just don't think they agree. Also, I don't think you can ever count Jackie Battle out, though I REALLY hope they do.

Haven't seen enough of Bannon the benefit of the doubt. Battle could be a good option as a special teams player. Keep in mind, there are spots to work with... CB and WR probably could both go with 5. So that gets you Battle AND a swing guard.
I agree with your statement concerning the OL. I just couldn't justify a roster spot for any of the options. The OL depth was perfect before they dropped Waters.

They wanted to give Waters an opportunity to start somewhere.. but I haven't even heard a RUMOR of him being picked up or even worked out.
They might like Daryl Harris in that role, but tbh, I just don't see it.

If that's fine with you guys.
