Rate my team! 12 man keeper league. Starting lineup is 1 qb, 2 wr, 2 rb, 1 te, 1 w/r, 1 w/t, 1 k, 1 def
QBs: Big Ben (11k), Josh Freeman (7), Matt Stafford (10)
Could not believe Stafford kept falling. He will be my trade bait.
RBs: Ray Rice (1k), DeAngelo Williams (3), Tim Hightower (4), Knowshon Moreno (5), Ricky Williams (14)
4th round for Hightower is probably the highest he has ever gone but I think he is this year's Arian Foster so I couldn't let him get away. Moreno falling makes up for it. I think my league hates Georgia.
WRs: Vincent Jackson (2), Mario Manningham (6), AJ Green (8), Robert Meachem (12), Jacoby Ford (13), Arrelious Benn (15)
Green is a solid keeper pick and should see a ton of targets. Late round WRs are just to see who looks good till i have to drop 2.
TE: Marcedes Lewis (9)
K: Did not draft, will pick up prior to week 1
DEF: Did not draft, will pick up, I usually play a different D each week depending on matchup. I will have to drop 2 WRs for my K and DEF.
I think I have some great keeper candidates and a stacked QB class, Big Ben should have a nice year playing the NFC West

^ I'd rate your team, but I'm so bad when it comes to keeper leagues. I've never been a part of them and am unsure how to judge them.
Anyway, I just got out of a 12 team, live draft, picking 10th overall. Standard scoring, QB, RB, RB, R/W, TE, K, D/ST 7 BE
This is how it fell...
1.) Ray Rice
2.) Tom Brady
3.) Hakeem Nicks
4.) Mike Wallace
5.) Felix Jones
6.) Mark Ingram
7.) Ryan Mathews
8.) Lance Moore
9.) Jets D/ST
10.) Mark Sanchez
11.) James Starks
12.) Marcedes Lewis
13.) Davone Bess
14.) Rob Gronkowsi
15.) Rashad Jennings
16.) Josh Brown
QB: Tom Brady, Mark Sanchez
RB: Ray Rice, Felix Jones, Mark Ingram, Ryan Mathews, James Starks, Rashad Jennings
WR: Hakeem Nicks, Mike Wallace, Lance More, Davone Bess
TE: Marcedes Lewis, Rob Gronkowski
K: Josh Brown
DST: New York Jets
Thoughts?
Looking back, I'm thinking I may have taken Sanchez too early, but there was a huge run on QBs prior to my pick and I didn't want to lose out on a quality backup.

I already did it. It's not crazy at all. He's got the highest floor of any RB and he's least likely to get injured because he's built like a truck. And his ceiling is pretty high too, especially in a PPR league.

LOVE your RBs but there was no reason to take Brady in the 2nd. I would have much preferred Fitz/Sanchez than Brady/Sanchez. WTF.
EDIT: and taking a DEF in the 9th round in a draft in which a guy like Starks was still available in the 11th? A very noob move... come on.

How you can say that he has the highest floor when Adrian Peterson has been a top 5 RB for the last 4 years is beyond me. Peterson's body of work speaks for itself. If you want to go safe at #1, its gotta be AD.

I don't disagree with Peterson #1. You are right. I just feel that his physique and running style make him more susceptible to injury than Rice. Which is probably a dumb thing to think. I also think the MIN OL blows and could see them struggling offensively.
EDIT: And ^ is all stupid. The main reason I went Rice #1 is because I expect these #s... 1300 yards rushing, 600 yards receiving, 65 catches, 15-18 total TDs. Look at how many TDs McGahee scored the past two years. Rice will get those now minus a few to Williams. I expect a healthy Peterson to go for about 1600 total yards, 40 catches, and the same amount of TDs.

I see the injury concern, but the guy has proven everyone wrong 4 years running now. At some point he gets the benefit of the doubt. For me, its gotta be AD or Foster at #1 in a standard league, but Rice should certainly be considered in PPR formats and I would take him at #3 in standard.

Fitz as in Fitzpatrick?! Fitz is going to be absolutely horrendous this season.. I'm willing to put money on it.
And looking at the DEF thing... I may have been a little confident too confident in my RBs at that point. I also talked to quite a few of the other draftees who felt that Starks wasn't going to go til late, so I was holding out hope. Luckily, he was still there. Hopefully it pays off even more so if GB cuts Grant. Like you said, it was a noob move... but I took off from FF last year so I'm a little rusty ;)

Not at all. If I had the #1 OVR pick, I'd take him as well. He's got a good team around him, and BAL likes to run the ball. There's just something about him this season and I have this feeling that he is going to absolutely dominate. Not to mention the added deep threat of Lee Evans. I know that it won't have a huge impact, but the threat of having a legitimate deep threat, along with a strong armed QB like Flacco has to at least keep the defense honest, and cause them to not stack 8 men in the box so frequently. Not to mention he's got the best run-blocking FB in the league in front of him, Vonta Leach. I remember reading an article about the effect Leach is supposed to have for Rice this year. If I find it I'll be sure to post it.

also, try some google searches. i know that there are other resources out there.
I frickin love dynasty FF. rookie drafts are what brought me to SWDC in the first place.
rankings for dynasty are pretty similar to redraft. it is hard to walk the fine line of understimating & overvaluing age/experience

Getting CJ and McCoy is a steal, but if I was you'd I'd look to trade either Jackson or Gates.

Have had a couple of years off Fantasy and didn't do anywhere near as much study as I should have, so I have ended up with this very ordinary looking team after my 12-team draft.
Any suggestions to improve (everywhere I know!) or what possible free agents to look at, and what fringe players are worth hanging on to for now.
QB: Michael Vick
RB: Matt Forte
RB: Felix Jones
WR: Santonio Holmes
WR: Mario Manningham
WR: Chad Ochocinco
TE: Dustin Keller
K: Alex Henery
DEF: Steelers
BEN: Matt Hasselbeck
BEN: DeAngelo Williams
BEN: Reggie Bush
BEN: Pierre Garcon
BEN: Jacoby Ford
BEN: Lance Kendricks

ouch, ya that's pretty bad for 12 teams
after Vick, RB is sadly your strongest position but you dont have a real #1. WRs are decent also no #1, TE need alot of work too, has to be someone decent on waivers

Im not usually one to jump on preseason bandwagons, but Antonio Brown of the Steelers would be a good free-agent pickup. Whoever wins the No3 WR for the Steelers will basically be the number 2 behind Mike Wallace (Hines Ward is past it). Emmanuel Sanders probably would have won it, but with his lingering injuries Brown has taken advantage. He would easily be your best backup/flex option.
