GODDAMMIT VERLANDER, GET IT TOGETHER. Porcello is ashamed.

45 pitches through 2 innings, but no runs allowed.
Minnesota is just fouling off every ******* pitch. This is exactly the problem Verlander has had in previous seasons.

Carl Pavano with the least deserved standing ovation ever.

Justin Verlander just won his 20th game (1st time in his career).
He did not have his A-game today at all, but probably deserves a win on the strength of the Tigers' offense for a change.
Overlooked stat: Verlander has 20 wins despite receiving just the 83rd best run support in the majors:

Wakefield and Burnett should pitch against each other in the playoffs, just to see how fantastically each would fail.

So who wants Jonathon Sanchez?
Eric Surkamp debut: 6 innings, 1 ER, 4 Ks.
Not perfect but better then Zitos 5.62 ERA and Sanchez's million walks.

Remember Ryan Sadowski?
Yeah, don't bet your hand on one debut start

How in the hell has Granderson scored 24 more runs than anyone else in baseball?

He's hit a million HRs and 10ish triples and everyone behind him has 90+ RBIs. And he's getting on at a .370 clip.

Have you seen the Twins starting pitching lately? Righties are hitting Brian Duensing at a MVP like rate, no joke. .333/.387/.570

I know Grandy is having an amazing year, but that's just a ridiculous gap over the rest of the pack. Gotta be an aberration of sorts.

Back to back sweeps of Washington and San Diego
9-0, 0-5, 6-0
we seem to be streaky
Ian Kennedy 17-4, 3.03 ERA
im calling 18-10 the rest of the way giving us 93-69

I am glad Kennedy is doing well. I always liked him, it sucked he either couldn't handle the pressure of NYC or the Yankees lacked the patience to bring him along (though that doesn't seem to be the case with Joba and Hughes.)

Delmon Young hasn't walked in 59 plate appearances here.

Alonso is playing 3rd tonight. Could be interesting to say the least. Through the first three innings he hasn't been involved in a play.

Actually, I think the Yankees just made the wrong choices in deciding on Joba/Hughes over Kennedy.

They both have considerably better stuff than Kennedy, and had produced better results at the time of the trade.
