Jesus Montero just hit his first career big league homer.

This series with Atlanta was suppose to be bigger but with Atlanta 7.5 out, and a near lock to make the playoffs as well, I'm not that excited at all.

It's really a shame that the Braves lost those two games in a row to the Dodgers or this might have been a really fun series to watch.
Still, it'd be nice if the Braves could somehow pull off a sweep, because with the Phillies not having an off day for the rest of the season, the Brewers up next and another series at the end of the month, it would at least be good to make it close.

Seems like it's all but done that they'll meet in the NLDS. I do like the match up for PHI a lot due to your lack of lefties in the rotation.

Halladay vs Kennedy/Hudson
Lee vs Hudson/Kennedy
Hamels vs Saunders
Yeahhhh I don't like those odds.

Ya only advantage we got is being the hottest team, which works in Football but not so much in other sports.
And Ian Kennedy is most definitely our #1, 9-1, 2.05 ERA since the break
D'Backs happen to be #3 in ERA vs Lefties, #9 OPS
edit: Dexter Fowler had 0 HRs on the season until these last 3 games vs AZ he now has 4

Delmon Young is hitting a lot of singles (still has yet to take a single walk in almost 100 PAs), and now some fans want the Tigers to bring him back at $6+ million next season. Oh joy.

At least Francoeur can defend. Delmon looks like a lost puppy in left.

But people thought he was a Gold Glove caliber OF. It was terrible. At least no one will be making that mistake with Delmon.

I guess we are only 3 back of the Brewers, while facing the Braves isn't exactly a good match up for us it's certainly better than the Phillies

Easily a better match up. The Phillies are the worst match up for anyone in the playoffs, NL and AL. Is that being a homer?

No. The Phillies terrify the **** out of me, every other team has some serious weaknesses pitching wise.

No thats not being a homer. Nobody, I mean nobody should want to face the Phillies. Arizona and Milwaukee both have younger rotations that don't have a lot of experience in the playoffs. The Braves' offense is what scares me about them. Detroit and the Yankees have 1 starter when they need 3. And the Red Sox's rotation is not as good as Halladay, Lee, and Oswalt.

Doug Fister's 13 strikeouts shake their head disapprovingly at you.

I would start Oswalt before Worley in the playoffs, no question.
