I'd be more afraid of the fact that you're unlikely to score a run in the final 3 innings of any game that O'Ventbrel is available.

Given that Hudson is your only reliable pitcher right now...

I'm only worried about the Braves bats against lefties. They could certainly score runs against righties.

I can tell you're loving the decline of Jair Jurrjens, and am disappointed in your inability to realize how reliable Beachy has been.

Jair has been battling injuries ever since the all-star break. I just hope he and Tommy can heal up in time.

Right now, I go Worley over Oswalt for sure.
Cliff Lee has 70 pitches through 6 innings as of right now. 7-0 lead to work with.

It's our major issue. Lee and Hamels should have no problem in a series against ATL. We'd be lucky to beat Halladay as well. This is why our pitching really needs to heal the hell up, or we'd get rocked in the NLCS.

And that's if you guys can get past Milwaukee. Arizona is also only 3.5 games behind the Brewers. If Jurrjens and Hanson are still hurt for October, then the Braves will be in a ton of trouble. The Phillies have rotation depth and the Brewers have more firepower to go with 3 strong starting pitchers. The Braves do have a strong bullpen and so do the Diamondbacks. As long as the Braves can make it so that the other teams don't score after the 6th, they have a chance. But I'm probably going to pick against them for reasons I'll get into when October rolls around.

Hell, if Jurrjens or Hanson are in the rotation and aren't any better than they've been the rest of the year, the Braves are in a ton of trouble. The Braves have a lot of depth in the rotation, but about 2 players that I see going out there to pitch and feel comfortable that it will be a solid outing, and that's Beachy and Hudson. Minor has been very good, but his lack of experience makes me a little nervous. As of right now, I'd feel iffy putting Jurrjens or Hanson in the playoff rotation over any of those three or Lowe.
Jurrjens can't strike anybody out, has a relatively low GB% this year, and a relatively low HR/FB% this year, and has seen his walk rate increase all year. He's been incredibly lucky with RISP, and simply hasn't been that great.
Hanson I have a little more confidence in because he's able to strike anybody out when healthy, and his HR/FB is double what it's been the past two years. But coming back into the rotation with a bad shoulder in a playoff run is a recipe for disaster. I still like him most going forward, but not this year.
Simply based on performance this year, I'd go Hudson, Beachy, Minor, Lowe this year, with Hanson over Lowe if healthy. If Hanson is ready to go, I would fully expect Atlanta to actually go something more like Hudson, Lowe, Hanson, Beachy, and leave Minor off the rotation. I shudder to think what Fredi might do if Jurrjens and Hanson are healthy though. If Beachy is left off the playoff rotation, I'm going to burn his office to the ground.

Jurrjens for Gordon, straight up. You're welcome.
Actually, Moore is your GM. Jurrjens for Gordon, Moustakas, Escobar, and Moore's first born.

The Red Sox score runs in bunches when they don't need them.

When Alex Avila's knees are shot in 2 years and he morphs into Russ Martin circa last year, blame Leyland's unnecessary abuse of him this year. We have a mega lead on both the White Sox and the Indians, it's time to ******* rest him you old ****.

Nice to see McGowan resume his career after all those injuries. Results aren't there at all right now.
Lester on the otherhand, is mowing Blue Jays down. He's really been mowing people down lately. Hasn't been his best year between health and some bad stretches(even though the statistics are good right now), but he looks poised to finish the year strong.

5 of the Twins starters tonight started the year in AAA. 3 in AA. Only Mauer and Valencia were on the MLB roster. This season is a joke.
oh and Kyle Gibson is having Tommy John surgery tomorrow. **** everything.

Yeah, my dad used to always joke around these times in past season that the Rochester Red Hawks are playing tonight. Tonight, he said its not even the Red Hawks, its the New Britton Wild Cats or whatever the hell they are called.
