Especially in this case, sometimes the team that wins it seems to relax and sit back cuz they won it. I am not gonna call the Giants lucky to win the World Series cuz u don't luck urself into winning a World Series, but their pitching was and still is outstanding and worthy of being a playoff team. And carried them. But they sat back offensively and did nothing, NOTHING. They expected Cody Ross to be the offensive stud again. He wasn't, brought in an aging Beltran, an aging Cabrera at the deadline. Those weren't much. They just did nothing to get better on offense. So IMHO, rip them, rip them, and rip them some more!

A lot of that is sunk cost on Barry Zito, Miguel Tejada, Aubrey Huff, Cody Ross, and Mark DeRosa.

Further, this can make Giants fans pissed. Those are their "high priced" dudes. I mean its almost like the Giants were a real life Major League last year.

My question is do you really feel that Beltran will earn what ever contract he gets or do you just want to bring him back because of the prospects you traded
Just kinda seems like you're heading down the same path with him, I think it's all down hill from here for Beltran

A 2 year/$16-17 million dollar deal would be a pretty decent deal for Beltran at this point.

I'm tired of seeing 30+ year olds starting in the outfield struggling to get fly balls every year. I wanna see the Giants get younger and faster. I really don't want to bring back Beltran, but if he will come back at a reasonable price then we almost have to bring him back.

I think an A.L. team would likely offer more money than that. He's not a liability in the OF yet and he can DH for the other half of the games.

no way his contract will be that small, Werth got 7/126, obviously a terrible deal but their numbers are basically the same and Beltran is only 2 years older
My guess is 5/75

With Beltran's injury history there is no way shot in hell he gets 5 years. 3 at the absolute most and even then I'd be shocked.

5/75? Are you stoned? Werth was going to be 32 early in the year that his contract began, while Beltran will be 35 with a more recent history of injuries. Plus, Werth had a far better series of years leading up to it. And of course, NOBODY thought the Werth deal was a good idea and it's already biting them in the ass.

I don't even think Boras can pull something out of his ass on this one.

Yeah, Boras is the best agent ever but he doesn't have the force. He's not going to get more than 3 years, and I think it'll end up being 2 years/$20-22 million at the most.
Hell, two of the contracts given out this year (Werth and Dunn) might be the worst contracts in history next to Zito, Dreifort, and Wells.

Zito was an Iron Man 28 year old who got a deal NOBODY thought he would because Sabean is an idiot. Also, he likes wins and ERA.

Dunn isn't a Boras client. I'm just going on the sense that teams will wise up, but I expect the free agents to be paid this offseason will be Prince, Pujols, CJ Wilson, and Yu Darvish.

You missed one. Daisuke sucking might hurt Darvish big time. I think most teams finally realize how terrible the posting system is.

Nobody cares about Jose Reyes. Dice-K wasn't bad his first couple of years and he was older/less talented than Darvish is now when he was posted.

Regardless let's not forget how hyper he was because of the gyroball. The posting system is a rip off and rarely do you ever get what you pay for. Ichiro and Matsui are probably the only players who were worth it.
Everyone cares about Kings.

Darvish? I haven't heard anything yet but I'm sure the Yanks will be considered the favorite.
