Really excited to see what West Virginia looks like this season. I'm expecting a few bumps in the road, what with Holgorsen taking over sooner than anticipated, but I'm looking forward to some big things on offense. A little worried about the offensive line, but hopefully the shifts they've made will work out. I'm excited to see how the new starters on D are going to do, hoping it's a continuation of last year's dominance but the team lost a number of really good defenders so you never know.

Rutgers was picked last by the coaches today at Big East Media Day. I understand that after last year's debacle but I don't think we're going to finish in last.

1. West Virginia (21 first place votes) - 188 pts
2. Pittsburgh (2) - 162 pts
3. South Florida (1) - 151 pts
4. Syracuse - 98 pts
5. Cincinnati -96 pts
6. Connecticut - 76 pts
7. Louisville - 60 pts
8. Rutgers - 33 pts

Yeah, not sure how I feel about WVU being picked as the overwhelming favorite to win the Big East. I mean, I like it, but I also don't really like that expectation hanging over this team. First year head coach, new offense, a lot of new faces on defense, etc etc. But I'm excited about the possibility!

I heard the Big East is thinking about Expanding? Who would be the top Choices to Join?

Well you already have TCU coming in next year but other candidates are teams like Villanova and Central Florida. I've even heard Kansas and Kansas State being mentioned as well.

I heard that their dream school would be Maryland, not sure how plausible that would be.

What are the Chances the Big East Splits into Football and Basketball Divisions? The Two Kansas Teams would bring the most to Basketball for the Big East.

I read they might drop some of the basketball teams like Seton Hall, Depaul, Marquette and so on but it's all conjecture at this point. When the new TV deal comes up next year we'll have a much better idea which direction they'll be going.

Should still be much better than last year. Getting out of the Wild Knight is going to help immensely also.

I've heard some rumors about Kansas, Kansas State, and Mizzou being added to the conference if the B12 splits. Mizzou would probably prefer landing in the SEC, so if that happens then you're talking about adding another team as a 12th football and potentially 20th basketball school. Then the schools like UCF, Temple, and 'Nova come into play - not sure if they'd prefer 20 basketball schools or 19 which would give a neater 18 game schedule with everybody playing everybody.

As a 'Nova fan I would love to see us get added to the BE, but I also think it's highly unlikely at this point unless things break well due to stadium issues. The three schools I listed at the top are probably the best case scenario, then maybe UCF if you really believe they're a sleeping giant. I personally don't think Temple makes much sense given they failed in the Big East already and they don't really have a huge fan base (the game against 'Nova gets generally the best attendance or close to it every year and that's a FCS opponent and half of the people who bought tickets didn't show up this year) and 'Nova's already in the conference, but maybe I'm biased because if the BE adds a Philly school I want it to be mine.

I do hope the Big East does well this year being an East Coast guy and a fan of a team affiliated with the conference in basketball, plus since I didn't go to an FBS school (there's always grad school) and I'm from Jersey it's the closest conference geographically.

On special teams, yes. On offense, he had at least two drops and has some work to do. But the talent is there, and I suspect Holgs will get the most out of it.

As for the O-line, I agree. It wasn't a good day in the trenches.

That was a disappointing game. I really thought, once the Mountaineers brought it within six points, that things were turning our way. But that kick return was the final nail in the coffin. Can't make that many mistakes against such a good team. There were some positives to take out of that one, though.

Didn't deserve to win that one.
Lee took it to our secondary when he needed to and succeeded.
We needed to get a big play early for us, and a stop on that early 3rd down would have been a start. LSU is ranked that high for a reason.
